Grace

Grace! The most obvious to me: God's grace!

It is always there, whether we feel it or not. And not being able to feel it is our flaw, our lack of awareness and connectivity with the Divine.

Then the grace of a human being. Evidently, the first thought is physical grace. But beyond that, grace as in graceful behavior, the ability to temper it with a sense of calm, good will and control, without hurting.

Grace as opposed to brash, even crass. Grace as in inspiring respect. Grace as in simple, honest and conciliatory. As in considerate and helpful in return for unkind behavior.

Graceful talk as opposed to merely a graceful walk or gait.

To have grace is a sterling quality divine in content.

Criticize

I was reading a quote which said, however good you are, there will always someone criticizing you. It took me a long time to finally understand that people don't criticize you because they don't like you. They criticize you either because they like you, though reluctantly, and wish they could be like you...or because they resonate with the same negativity that they criticize you for.

                     
This kind of understanding frees you from feeling a lack of self worth and there is no personal "beating up" due to what others says or think. Isn't that wonderful?

Painful exercise

It is a fact of life that people come for a while in your life and move out of your orbit also. Holding on is a painful exercise.

To add a little humor to this, I always remember the typical scene from the old Hindi films where the woman holds onto the leg of her husband and says “mat jao. Mujhe chhod kar mat jao...” it can also be applicable to any other relationship.

What will I do without you, is a very human feeling. But then, it is tempered with the ability to do without, too? We say time takes care of many things…I think, it means that slowly, we ourselves learn to let go. If we don’t, time does not take care of it.

Family matters! I hear this line constantly “we don’t choose our family. Thank God for our friends”. It puzzles me much. I feel as if we are talking about two species from different planets!
