Impenetrable

All hurts, unhappiness and grief in relationships are there for all humans to be challenged with. Sometimes, the darkness around us is impenetrable! Or so we think at the time we are going through it.

But our survival mode is stronger than we think or know. The craving to live is the need of the soul because each soul has come for a purpose which needs completion. And this has little to do directly with relationships.

There are souls who lose heart and end their lives. There are others who leave the world through tragic accidents. They leave unfulfilled karma behind which will probably follow them in the next life.

There is so much we don’t know! Ironically though, often, we don’t even conform to what we know. There is no end to mental conflicts in such cases.

Somehow, the fragility of life eludes us most of the time. We only feel it when we see death. And this too seldom lasts long. As i said, the craving to live supersedes all and HOPE is what makes us all tick.

Perceptions

Why is it that, in society, the act of gossip is entertainment to us? It is definitely slander. It results in maligning the person you are gossiping about. And the people we talk about are not even present to respond. And we feel satisfied when others agree with us? Really? We have reached a stage where sensitivity and spirituality is nowhere. We are living a lie and in total ignorance. Even though, I am sure, everyone has a need to be seen as “good”, we get stuck within our own limitations of our frustrations and cravings.

Our own inadequacies probably give us a short term “high” through speaking about the limitations of others and criticizing them. Our perceptions about others then, become a convenient argument that probably makes us feel superior to them. Reality may be very far from what we think. We are merely delusional. The irony is, we do very little to work on ourselves. Hard work comes hard although, the fact is, looking within is the only way to create the right values within us.

There is a world out there that does not know the meaning of being spiritual and being close to the Divine. It is dark and defiant of any light coming in. Let US at least live in the light ourselves, each one of us. Be sensitive and compassionate. Let’s be good. Let’s understand that everyone is fulfilling their karma only. No more, no less. And everyone is living a challenge. So, Be kind. Be helpful.

Growth

Something to think about! Every negative emotion can be used positively for personal growth. Every challenge facing us contributes to a certain fear / anxiety / doubts. whether we should take it up, whether we will succeed, whether to play safe and not take it up?

If you give up before you try, you have failed already. But if you face your fears and anxiety but take up the challenge anyways, you will find yourself becoming more aware of the process required for success. This very awareness of incorporating features that you require to accomplish a task is the major contributor to your growth.

So, if your goal is personal growth as it should be for us all, then your courage should kick in each time that you shirk a task because of self-doubt.

Challenge

One of the main challenges to fortitude is physical discomforts. Heat & cold, pleasure & pain arise from the contact of sense organs. They come and go, being impermanent. Bear with them patiently. Mental discomforts arise from the dualities of life like pleasure & pain, praise & blame and gain & loss. Though we tend to seek the pleasantness and detest the painful, we need to face both, since life offers a package deal: you seek the one and the other comes uninvited. Braving the forces of lust & anger is the greatest challenge. Under their grip man forgets what he is and acts in a way he himself might not approve of in his saner moments. He who is able to withstand the agitation caused by lust & anger, is the self-controlled one and he is the happy man.

Resolutions

We must keep reinventing ourselves ever so often! And rejuvenating ourselves, too!  Life’s challenges will keep coming but this exercise will keep us energized.

Flip life on both sides of the coin so it becomes easy to accept one side and switch to another with a toss. Once the coin and the ability to flip it is on our side, it is an exciting game and gives us the control in our hands, at least some of the time.

To be too intense is not the answer. Focus and taking balanced strides makes a lot of difference. Redirect yourself with every challenge and look for resolutions.

Journey

Pain is inevitable. There is no growth or evolution without it. The triggers causing pain could be either from other lifetimes or this one. Even if our life’s path has been chosen wisely and in the right direction , periodic tests , some intense, will arrive along the journey. Some will be unpalatable and challenge our attachments.

But you know what ? This is exactly what we need to reflect on what we want in our lives and what we must accept as not available. There is another angle too, which is, what we had but didn’t work .

So, at every step, knowledge is incomplete unless we learn and move in the chosen direction.

The release of knots does not mean disconnection. It just means smoothening out and getting back into the flow. Surface waves which have been calmed.
