Positive intention

A benevolent thought and acted upon with a positive intention does not fail. Somehow, people do not realize that performing such an act for someone comes back to you in strange ways. It is because the Universe is like an echo. The same quality that you give out is returned to you.
That is why, it is said, the more you give, the more you get and not necessarily from the same place. Just the bonus that you receive is indication enough about the quality of your own deed.
So, never shy away from being generous and never use others for your own ends. Rather, give generously and be satisfied that you have been placed in a position to give.

Extremities of emotions

I find the reason why most of us are not always balanced in head and heart is, the heart combines with our attachment and feelings, not letting in enough intellect. After all, we feel we can’t love with our head. The heart is the Known organ of love.
But this does not work out well in practice many a time. Somewhere, in our love come the ideas, of space. And that is the intellect speaking. We can energetically cross over easily to the other people and invade their energy space. And then that love is no longer love but a bit of an obsession which we don’t always realize. But the people in question feel it, rightly or wrongly.
The solution is to refrain from extremities of emotions, in fact, any extremities. And painful as it may be because of your genuine feeling of love, one must withdraw into our own space until better times prevail.

A Bundle of expectations

Forget Safety, live where you fear to live, destroy your reputation, be notorious"- Rumi
People find Rumi too drastic sometimes. I love him. He eggs you on to live a full life, deeply philosophical on one hand and seeking freedom for each one of us who have bound ourselves hand and feet in the self created web of meaningless wants pure insecurity.
Thoughts such as, what will happen to me if I do this or that? The "ME "which we don't know ourselves. Which one is the "me?" There are so many "me"s , each with their own demands, their beliefs, their prejudices , etc.
This is what Rumi tells us to free ourselves from. Wants bring fear of non achievement. Wants attach us to the desired result and there is grief if that result does not materialize. We are actually a vortex of desires and to aspire to achieve them, a bundle of expectations also, because at every step, we would need people.
A life without fear is a life well lived. Fear of loss. Fear of death. Fear of not being loved. Fear of non acceptance of rejection and of loneliness, even if not being able to survive and so much more.
We can't even imagine how much time is being wasted on so many unnecessary activities which actually increase our fear quotient and reduce our freedom to languishing within boundaries made by us and none other.
