Meditation

Watch your breath ! It takes some training but if you watch your breath or keep your breath within your awareness , whatever else you are doing at that moment, something miraculous happens.
You just never let go of your control . The breath regulates your thoughts, your reactions and your emotions.
If you notice, the pattern of your breath changes with the quality of your emotions. When you are angry, your breath is shallow and fast. In meditation, your breath slows down .
People get confused about what exactly meditation is. Constant breath awareness is nothing short of meditation. There is no need to sit down specially, and close your eyes and try to remove your thoughts. Many people find this frustrating and they drop meditation completely. For these people, I would really recommend watching your breath and experiencing beautiful changes.

Peaceful and Content

I wrote this based on my observation of close bonds being diluted due to non communication :
The uneasy silence of unspoken words .
The strain of meeting as if all is well. The restless soul that feels this pain ,
And suffers in helplessness.
Of being so close but, oh ! So distant !
The boundary stretched across ,
Irrevocably perhaps ?
When and how did this happen ?
Only God would know !
As awareness , lost in the darkness of life’s events
Not retrieved , as time knocked out what could have been. ...
Talk to me, for I am no stranger..
Tell me how you feel..
Surprise me with your warmth ..
I know it lurks somewhere within ..
Just break the barrier..
It can’t be so hard !
The other beseeches you
But you keep your ego intact.
Futile ! Think a while !
For cruel is time
And fragile is life.
Atone, amend, salvage the bonds
For, death stands just beyond that door..
And regrets and guilt an inch away from that door.
So, build bridges.
Rebuild the burnt ones
Reconstruct the old, loving patterns.
Let your heart be peaceful and content.

Ambitions

We do many things out of being misguided. One of the most tragic ones is living through your children. Life often fails to give you what you want. That is sad. But for you to force your children to take the path you wanted to is definitely an injustice to them. Ambitions cannot be imposed upon anyone externally. Besides, that was your life. This is theirs.
Ironically, we repeat what our parents did to us that are, not letting the kids have the freedom to choose, to make independent but informed decisions.
Children who are bulldozed into deviating from their desired goals are often angry and frustrated later in life, likewise with children trying to wreak vengeance on behalf of their parents or loved ones.
It is our duty to guide our kids alright, but not coerce them and on no account, to make them into anything but wholesome individuals.
