Self-Sacrifice

Suppressing authentic needs is a huge hole within our wholesomeness. Traditionally, we have been taught that goodness means self-sacrifice, living for others, suppressing our needs to accommodate those of others around us and forgiving everyone who hurt you whether they repent or not. In short, we have made excellent arrangements for our own depletion of energy and destruction of our self-image.

Kindness, in this connection, is NOT what I just described. Everything begins with the self and then extends outwards. It is that part of goodness which ought to start with kindness to the self-first. If your inner self is under the agony of suppression, denial and conflict, how do you even BEGIN to get enough energy to be what society selfishly demands from you?

That inner self, your suffering shadow self of which even you are in partial denial, must be brought into your conscious awareness so that you can heal it and integrate it with your true self. Only then can you become wholesome. And then you can extend yourself outwards and help others find themselves.

Connectivity

You have to believe in the intrinsic goodness of people. If we believe that there is a divine hand in the creation of this world and therefore, there HAS to be an element of this divine energy in everything, then every soul is pure.

Of course, there are layers of pollution piling up for various reasons. Healing those with awareness and consciousness is the prime soul contract while transiting from life to life. And no! It is NOT easy. The churning and turmoil, the pain and the disappointments are all related to our identification with our body and mind. We are unable to transcend these to identify our soul purpose which brings us here. And we are all in this together! The reason to follow a path of dharma, of compassion, simple humility and a clean mind is simply this. Truth lives within these qualities and so does human connectivity. Our minds have gone berserk, looking at the destruction around the world. With power at your command, you can kill with the press of a button. But, killing with kindness and empathy are laughable concepts with most people.

All three aspects of Shiva, as creator, preserver and destroyer are within us. People who pray to Shiva, and are in awe of the qualities he exhibits, are still unable to understand that prayers are meant to embody Shiva in OUR lives, to practice what he symbolizes. Look within, identify the three traits within and work on them.

Unbridled ego

An unbridled ego, when unleashed among friends, family or acquaintances can be extremely damaging! It just destroys all value systems within such people.

Despite atrocities and destruction, goodness still prevails, though hanging by a slender thread, or the world would have come to an end.

The most difficult thing to do is to withdraw our inner self when required. Because this is what a wise person does. It is not only about what to do but what not to do as well.

Actually, the unrefined ego makes choices that are harmful and can have a very isolating influence. It disrupts the flow in relationships and will always attract people who are not necessarily there to extend friendship. The ego bypasses straightforward people in a heart beat . All it wants is to be fed with praise, however false. So, ego driven people have no need for sincerity in relationships. They simply don’t dwell there.

The time now is a difficult one and we make it more so, due to our ignorance of the basic principles to adopt, especially when in society.

The calibre of influencers will help the transition into infusing more balanced parameters into people along with the wisdom that precedes this.

Obsessive energy

The traditional thought is that this world needs thinkers . True, but with a clause attached , that they should also be positive thinkers. Otherwise, I would be happy with seeing positive people rather than thinkers gone wrong.

Isnt it amazing that convictions wear the garb of brain washing ever so often ? Millions are being brainwashed by a few distorted minds harbouring unholy intentions but speak so convincingly of a case for destruction that thinkers themselves are swept away into misled convictions !

This is the most dangerous trend yet because the darkness of such obsessive energies can engulf the world and wipe all goodness and all virtue clean .

At what point does such a  phase change ? And after how much devastation does good sense finally dawn ? And when do peace and tolerance finally prevail over self inflicted pain and turmoil within individuals that spreads like wild fire and envelops the masses ?

I wish someone knew !
