Compassion and Kindness

Sure, go out and help people. That’s what life teaches due to mutual connectivity. But don’t deplete your own energy while doing so. Your energy is meant for your journey. And you require it regularly.

This is what empaths do. Help and move back. Someone who feels the pain of others but does not internalize it. Instead, helps in every which way to alleviate suffering.

Compassion and kindness are off shoots of empathy. Most important is balance though. Remember the principle of always wearing your own oxygen mask first. Keep enough oxygen for yourself.

Connectivity

You have to believe in the intrinsic goodness of people. If we believe that there is a divine hand in the creation of this world and therefore, there HAS to be an element of this divine energy in everything, then every soul is pure.

Of course, there are layers of pollution piling up for various reasons. Healing those with awareness and consciousness is the prime soul contract while transiting from life to life. And no! It is NOT easy. The churning and turmoil, the pain and the disappointments are all related to our identification with our body and mind. We are unable to transcend these to identify our soul purpose which brings us here. And we are all in this together! The reason to follow a path of dharma, of compassion, simple humility and a clean mind is simply this. Truth lives within these qualities and so does human connectivity. Our minds have gone berserk, looking at the destruction around the world. With power at your command, you can kill with the press of a button. But, killing with kindness and empathy are laughable concepts with most people.

All three aspects of Shiva, as creator, preserver and destroyer are within us. People who pray to Shiva, and are in awe of the qualities he exhibits, are still unable to understand that prayers are meant to embody Shiva in OUR lives, to practice what he symbolizes. Look within, identify the three traits within and work on them.

Connectivity

Lord Acton had said eons back that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Today, we see this with celebrity status turning easily to megalomania. One sees this is all politics and glamour industries. Most in politics where international power of statesmanship seems to be a hotbed for human destruction, e.g., the Russia Ukraine war. Or the threat of nuclear invasions … a complete misuse of power.

Power seems to have the power of destabilization of the mind. An imbalance created within the yin and yang factors within all humans. And the attempt to play God without having the necessary qualities of compassion and empathy for all mankind. Dangerous for the world!

It is as if the higher they reach the more they lose ground reality. In that high space, their vision becomes more myopic, confined to their own endless desires. The connectivity with the rest of the humanity eludes them.

There have always been these kinds of destructive minorities who manage to gain absolute powers. But the ground reality also is, that the weaker majority puts them on that pedestal from where they take the leap towards megalomania.
