Everything is changeable

The days your heart is full are the days you come closest to bliss and to Godliness. Everything around you is positive. Only good news comes your way. The people close to you are communicative. You feel love and grace. A perfect day!
Spoils us for those days which are not so perfect because in our ignorance, we start expecting every day to be a replica of that one perfect day. A lot of this syndrome has to do with our expectations. We know every day is not going to be the same but we still feel bad and stressed when it isn't.
Perfect days also have a lot to do with our responses to the situations during the day. We can choose to smile or frown and that takes care of the mood setting for the day.
It is not wrong to say that it is in our hands to turn the mood around to a more positive one. An honest attempt may work, but not each time. Sometimes, our own energies may not side with us and sometimes, those around us may overpower us to succumb to an outcome not designed by us nor expected.
But you know what? At the end of the day, everything is okay and will pass to give way to a new phase yet again. There is no scope to feel triumphant. Things are constantly in a state of flux. Everything is changeable and changing constantly. That's life.

Satiation level

All our lives, we are told we must be balanced, balanced and more balanced. While we were kids on the see saw, the fun was exactly the opposite that is one side being up and the other side swinging up in seconds. Then we had the swing on which soaring higher and higher, one hardly knew what balance meant.
We read and preach a lot of theory. But actually, where is the balance? You love like crazy, like there is no tomorrow. You hate, waiting for tomorrow to avenge some deed or another. You eat the food you like until your tummy groans. You see serials like one addicted, forgetting day and night. You are constantly on whatsapp, face book and calls for hours. If you are a golfer, you never heard of the word "balance".
Today, I am a spoilt child of my parents. Tomorrow, I will want to do exactly what I feel like. Later, I will want much name, fame and money. And so on.... so much for balance! What is that saying that says...
Love as if you never loved before
Laugh as if you will never laugh again
Cry your heart out when it is in pain
Enjoy with every cell in your body....
So much for balance right!
I always think that balance means certain contentment, a satiation level. And this can spell a saturation for which you have to really be ready and would have to have arrived at that point.
How many of us have?

Pile up

Right from the time we become adults, we accumulate and hoard. Then, in the sunset years, we need to declutter and give away. Similarly, we build larger homes and then shrink them into apartments. We know that everything has to be downsized ultimately. Yet, we keep accumulating more than we actually need.
I believe that the bigger the space you create the more clutter you will pile up. Every empty wall needs to be filled up.
Yet, our heart has huge spaces in it. We call it a void. Because
ironically we downsize the heart very early in life, which we are not supposed to. No clutter there. Whereas, the more full it is, the more abundance there would be; a completely opposite reality the main difference between the physical world and the non physical world.

Attitudes of people

There is a very wise saying in Hindi which, translated, means, and “never throw stones in still waters". Let things be. Let sleeping dogs lie. Don't create ripples unnecessarily, so relevant for life and attitudes of people. When things are moving smoothly, there will always be people disturbing the peace, people who get restless when there is no problem. Peaceful
Existence also becomes intolerable for some. I think peace is also a habit, like any other. There are those who can't live any other way. But living in a world of dualities, many will spring up around you to threaten your peace.
But, I wonder if that is not too placid a way to exist. That turbulence is also required to grow. If stones are not thrown into still waters, the water may stagnate. And sometimes, when you let sleeping dogs lie, your home may be burgled.
The core issue is to know when to and when not to throw a stone.

Lifestyle

I hope there comes a time in everyone's life when you stop being influenced by others around and start to feel and act on your own. How much time we spend in minutes and hours every day fulfilling the needs of those around us? Granted, they are loved ones. But, it leaves us lacking somewhere.
By the question is, is it unhealthy not to love yourself? Do we have to feel guilt about it? So, how much do we do for ourselves? I see this image of sacrifice for others expected of a woman, a mother, a sister, most of the time.
Why is it that in India, women can be "up there" and revered or not desirable company? Especially when she strikes out for independence, loving herself no in between! Urban India is changing but it takes generations to gradually transform current trends and over a long period of time.
I find it is a lot of hypocrisy to revere the woman at home but not the ones outside, to honor what befits your mindset but choose to dishonor and disrespect those who perhaps don't fit in within your mindset or those you feel threatened by. Is it all about controls then?
The current dilemma is that of a changing role for women, which consequently must force change in the lifestyle of men.

Circumventing life

Circumventing life! Do we really know how to live life? From the time of our birth, we are gradually moving towards death. But that's not the point. We die several deaths in life even before death actually happens. Either we live with past memories or with anxiety for the future. Almost as if that cutting of the umbilical cord at birth has the same effect as the severing of the cord of the kite in the sky, leaving it swaying in space , completely directionless and blown away by the wind to wherever it takes the kite.
We are not geared to living in the moment. That cord has been severed, too. And the reason is, we don't actually know how to live this way. The past and future thoughts leave no space for the present. So, our thoughts are also blown and scattered here and there and we just don't know the art of retrieving them and filing them where they belong or letting them go, as the case may be.
Each day passes, never to return. But all we do is frame our memories in picture frames and spend our lives looking at them, some with happiness, some with sadness and some with regret. Where is the space for the present? Where is the motivation to shake off the dust and start off again towards a new horizon?

Controversy

It is generally wise to just withdraw in the face of the ego of someone you know well. Relationships are precarious when egos are high. If one accepts a person with all the traits, that equation might be different from that of two people who are equal and confident. It all boils down to how much you have digested life and its principles. And how much calmness your inner being has achieved for you not to get affected by external stimuli.
The one who succeeds is the one who knows how to refrain from
Sparking controversies and tries to appeasing those around. It makes you popular and endearing, but comes with the pain of holding back personal thoughts, speech, both of which might be contrary to the opinion of others.
Life is like that laced with some moving forward and some backwards and some standing still.

The best of times

We humans are so brilliant at forcing things to happen. Actually, we don't realize it but we are forcing the hand of God. Everything happens at the right time but patience is not a virtue at the best of times.
Remember the story of the cocoon that was forced open before time for the butterfly to emerge but it resulted only in its destruction.
Everything happens as preordained. The birth of a child, the ripening of fruit on the tree, the rise and set of the sun , the waxing and waning of the moon, a wedding of two people, dawn and dusk... even our destiny unfolding. It is such an egoistic illusion that we do anything.
Forcing something before time upsets the natural balance and the order of things. If we look back, we can remember several such incidents. The only way it works is watch as life unfolds and let it determine the direction of the flow.
