Traditions and culture

I truly believe that with every succeeding generation, some things change to get enhanced and some tend to deteriorate. We can imbibe what benefits us but to forgo our own traditions and culture is like mutilating a beautiful language instead of letting it evolve.

The concept of “old wine in a new bottle” applies to this superbly crafted Amazon original “Bundish Bandits”. The producers have done Hindustani Classical music great service by packaging the pure “bundish” or the classical song and raga rendition, contrasting it with contemporary music.

Very cleverly titled, this serial will inspire a new interest for our traditional raga based music. Much as we might appreciate the rhythm and compositions of the current digitalised music, this cannot be a substitute for the divinity of the pure notes which we refer to as “Naad Brahma” meaning that sound is god.

It is pure harmony, pure joy.

My deep appreciation for the way the old and the new have been blended without compromising the old. It is a serial which one can go on watching with match sticks in the eyes, wanting to watch just that one more episode.

Benefit of doubt

Giving benefit of doubt is the cleverest self preservation policy. You want peace? Just give benefit of doubt.

Something important gets left out because of someone else? Just give benefit of doubt.

If your work doesn’t get done because the staff member was on the phone, please give benefit of doubt.

Do we see what’s going on? Anyone who is in demand can afford to shirk responsibility and because of our need of them, we compromise and keep compromising through ... yes... benefit of doubt.

Level of awareness

When you do the right thing by others, at whatever cost to yourself and your desires, there is an immediate raise in vibrations. You feel that your higher self has revealed itself. The joy is apparent. So, don’t do anything that directly or indirectly, has detrimental repercussions on anyone. As a rule, this contaminates your energies. Don’t ever doubt this or defy this view, because there is enough evidence to prove this.
Contamination of energies attracts more contamination. The Universe sends you more of what you have because it only vibrates with what you ARE. It cannot discriminate, like humans can.
You are already with people and in places that you need to be with and in. No use fighting this. It is karmic. It is meant to be. AND, if you leave your prejudices aside, it is meant for your good. To learn to heal all the dark aspects that people in your life are there to show you. You may not have a memory of your karma but the people around you ably compensate for this. If only you venture in that direction, which is not often.
And also, if you stop hating and blaming, the truth is, you are always amidst your soul groups which are “coercing, “irritating” you into Understanding the reality, which you must be aware enough to understand.
Life acquires a different meaning once you reach that level of awareness.

Probability

Sometimes, we reach a deadlock within ourselves. Which way to go? What to do? These are times when probably we don't want to do a trade off to make choice. We want it all.
I think it would be great at such times, as someone said, to write a letter to your future self. Great idea! To visualize your future self and then make choices, how do I want to be in future? What kind of a person? Accordingly, you make your decisions today. There is less probability of going wrong. And we will learn to take corrective measures more easily.

Compromise

If we are afraid of saying what we think is right or fair, we are definitely damaging ourselves in the long run. There is never any end to compromising after that. We have to move along in the same direction, against what we believe in. And we do this to prevent isolation.
Diplomacy, tact and words like that are not meant as compromising in any way. I think we haven't checked our dictionaries in a long time. Subtle differences elude us. Even bigger ones do.
To be accepted, to be popular, what is the price tag? And to be upright and state your truth, albeit diplomatically, what is the price tag? It is a choice again.
