Retaliation

I can never find it in my heart to “understand” why we don’t see that everyone carries their burdens and their grief, sometimes silently and privately. We just see the surface and that too, may have more depth than we know.

The smile hides a million hurts. The “trying to be normal” with those that have hurt you terribly speaks of a grace no one wants to acknowledge.

What we do with our lives is a promise to ourselves. Do we want to elevate it or enslave it? Do we want to feel proud of who we are amidst many challenges, or do we want to fight battles which end up making us the losers? Because we don’t “win” in conflict. We just lose … lose our peace, our grace, our minds and our energies.

Ultimately, how does it matter that someone meant to insult or be rude? The onus is on them for their intentions. Yes, I know it is easy to say this and I have also been there. But you learn over time that dignity and respect are more important than retaliation, despite the fact that your non retaliation can be seen wrongly as weakness, but often, only when the attempt to bait does not work. At least, it does not disrupt your peace. And it is okay. Always prioritize on your peace is the lesson I have learnt.

If someone is on the wrong track, it is foolishness to follow. The larger part of the lesson.

Awareness

If we could realize that surrendering to Ishwara and seeking his grace is the most beautiful feeling that remains through the day. Everything that each day brings, comes with his grace. Because everything is a lesson to work towards balance.

Anything that makes us happy today can turn into sorrow tomorrow. Everything changes. Once we emerge out of our dualities, we can see a third path which is THE PATH of ONE!

The oneness of all existence consciousness bliss. This state of being has to be brought into our awareness.

Attachment

Attachment and peace are not compatible. Because attachment is bondage . And souls are freedom seeking.
It stands to reason that as long as I consider anything as "mine", I will always think of something as "yours" , too. And the conflict of mine and yours takes away peace.
What IS mine ? Actually, nothing . Yes, I am holding onto the illusion that all I have is mine. The children are mine. The family is mine. The friends are mine. Etc. And then start the expectations as well.
We are actually caretakers. Nothing and no one belongs to us. The sooner we know this, the better life will be and the more we can deal with life with wisdom and a fair amount of detachment.
If we don't detach with understanding, we will have to suffer and ultimately, be compelled to detach. So, Looked at from different angles , there IS no peace with attachment.

Charity

An action that is respected is that which is performed with grace. Its value is enhanced manifold. As long as there is life, give and take is an inevitable part of it. What is important is that grace is not only in giving but also in taking. There are people who keep giving but refuse to accept. That energy becomes one sided. There are also people who give very condescendingly and from a space of ego driven "charity". No grace there.
I know someone whose charities came to light after he passed on, to the amazement of his own family. Today, we need to advertise in the papers and media that we donated an x amount to an x charity. No grace there.
Let the giving be between you and God and treat specially those you give to , with utmost kindness and respect , almost as if It is YOUR need to give and not theirs to take, because it is not easy for everyone to accept while being made to feel small.
