Circumventing life! Do we really know how
to live life? From the time of our birth, we are gradually moving towards
death. But that's not the point. We die several deaths in life even before
death actually happens. Either we live with past memories or with anxiety for
the future. Almost as if that cutting of the umbilical cord at birth has the
same effect as the severing of the cord of the kite in the sky, leaving it
swaying in space , completely directionless and blown away by the wind to
wherever it takes the kite.
We are not geared to living in the moment.
That cord has been severed, too. And the reason is, we don't actually know how
to live this way. The past and future thoughts leave no space for the present.
So, our thoughts are also blown and scattered here and there and we just don't
know the art of retrieving them and filing them where they belong or letting
them go, as the case may be.
Each day passes, never to return. But all
we do is frame our memories in picture frames and spend our lives looking at
them, some with happiness, some with sadness and some with regret. Where is the
space for the present? Where is the motivation to shake off the dust and start
off again towards a new horizon?
