Motivation

Why we are so whimsical that we sometimes don't even do what is necessary? We don't make the necessary possible. It's a good starting point, you know. We need to do what we need to do. As a second step then, we can extend ourselves into the realm of the possible. Not always necessary but possible. And once you see an opportunity as possible, one day, you can try and make possible what was in the realm of the impossible.
It's all in the mind, intention and courage. As you walk, the path is sure to open up.
This is motivation for those who want to venture out in the direction of the impossible.

To be perfect

The burden of trying to be perfect! The heaviest that you can carry. Firstly, there is nothing like being the best because there will always be someone better than you. Secondly, even trying to be your own perfect self is a huge task, fraught with a lot of pain which often ends in self criticism and self doubt. If you fall short in anything you do, imagine how you feel let down by none other than your own self!
Anyway, the most import ant question: why do you seek to be perfect anyway? For others to admire you or for your sake, because your standards may be high? But what is the need for your standards to be so high that you pile on anxiety and stress in trying to be perfect?
I agree that there is a certain way we all have of doing things. Like, organizing an event or a party or doing business or socializing. And we do pick up ideas of bettering ourselves from others if we see something we like and would like to emulate.
But, the "I am the best" feeling becomes a stress eventually. You have to sustain that "I am the best" in every word and action. Painful!
As a friend asked me recently, why can't you say "so what" to yourself? So, if you are simply dressed for a party! So what? So, you didn't feel like attending an event. So what? So, someone didn't greet you at a get together. So what? Their loss! We can and should lighten ourselves up this way instead of carrying unsustainable burdens of standing out, of being singled out, of always turning heads when you walk in. And also, having heads turn away. Doesn't matter if they do, so what?
So, "so what" is going to be my theme song from now and I wonder what result it will bring in my life. But why even wonder? Whatever happens, so what?

Our well being

The worst thing is when something happens to you and you don't know why it is happening. Like an ailment or a behavioral pattern from someone which you consider unnecessary or surprised by because there is no apparent cause. We often agonize over these things.
If it concerns our wellbeing, sure, it is important to learn why. But it is also wise to understand what constitutes our well being and then let go of those things which we have understood as our well being but we are not really dependent on for our well being.

Universal energy

Om is a very powerful chant which brings all the universal energies together to heal and elevate. Without full knowledge, people give it a connotation of religion. But actually, that is ignorance.
Try chanting Om with feeling and you can visibly notice the calmness gradually settling within you. All stress disappears and so does your thinking mind. The deeper you go, the more blissful you feel.
Chanting Om regularly is known to bring about positive bodily changes as in , rejuvenating the cells of the body also.
Om or Aum denotes the cycle of life as in creation, preservation and destruction, only for a new cycle to begin again. We can see this as thesis, anti thesis and synthesis, the famous theory of Hegel.
Try chanting during early morning hours or even at bedtime to experience the wonderful therapy that is Om chanting.

Consistency

Consistency of anything is an absolutely essential path to excellence. Like a rough diamond that is polished and polished yet again until it is perfect.
Speaking specially of god given talents, it would be a pity to just let them languish in favor of idleness or frivolous activity. Indeed, one has to devote full time to hone a talent and therein lays the problem with many... too many sacrifices of "good times". But there can never be a substitute for the joy of reaching the heights of soul activities like music, dance, fine arts...
We only have to look at the Reality Shows to see the enormous amount of talent inherent within us. And the dedication with which these youngsters are working with parental backing. Thank the lord , parents are emerging from their narrow cocoon like minds to come out in full support of whatever it takes to see their children among the "stars".
As one young girl proudly said of her parents..." they are my super powers". How wonderful!

Life of wisdom

We habitually create storms for ourselves. We will go where fools fear to tread as it were. Or even the fearless think twice before treading. And then, we get upset or feel hurt at the outcome.
With idealism, one has to be practical also. I should have the intelligence not to put my hand in the fire when I am aware that the fire burns. But I am not always so intelligent.
"No" is not a bad or offensive word if used correctly. It applies to us mainly. To refuse is a right. And saying "no" to you so as to abstain from foolish indulgences speaks of a cleverness we all need in order to live a life of wisdom.

Life full of plans

When we are young and life stretches ahead, we are full of plans about how we will lead our lives, plan our careers, marriage, do this do that...
As years go by, things begin to change rapidly. The focus shifts on health and an inner circle of support system. It is strange how many lives we live in one lifetime and how priorities keep changing.
The one thing is never to take life for granted. You never know what is round the corner for you. So, refrain from anything which might harm your health always.

Levels of understanding

I often find people asking that if the world is our mirror and we mirror each other, why is there so much conflict? Because each one would like to feel they are good people. So, why is goodness not mirrored in the opposite person? Good question.
I have seen that when we don't accept the fact that we attract who we are, we are in trouble with our levels of understanding.
It is simple. If you want to see a clean face in the mirror, you will first have to clean the make up on it. You cannot possibly go into the mirror to cleanse your face, can you? So, for example, if you want to see love shining at you, you must mirror that quality of love within yourself first. How can it be mirrored otherwise?
We always want love, respect from others but when do we succeed in getting it? Only when we are full of love and respect ourselves.
But we do the contrary. We give only what we get. So, if we get hatred, we give it back. Whereas if love ruled us it would be mirrored in others as well.
The problem is, we lack the faith that this can and will happen.

Perception

Many of us live within a whirlpool of repeated patterns, bringing the same results each time and those that get embedded deeply bring either joy or grief. Those that cause grief need to be examined afresh. Evidently, while attempting to make the right choices, we end up making some wrong ones , too.
Most of the time, the tags "right" and "wrong" refer to the results of our actions as materializing in a feeling of joy or sorrow. But what we don't easily perceive is that if the intentions are pure, the actions perceived as wrong can ultimately have a good effect, because the "wrong" was a clouded perception.
If you have done your best, you will sleep well every night.

Path of personal growth

The only worthwhile knowledge which takes you further on the path of personal growth is that you know nothing. And in a way, it is true because the more you profess to know; the more there is to know.
I marvel at any form of arrogance of knowledge and this is precisely the reason. Can I ever say that my word is the last word? When creation constantly changes, expands, creates each moment, I really would be foolish in claiming any such thing. Those that understand this are genuinely grounded and humble.
So, you share what you know and that keeps multiplying. Others tune into your wavelength and you into other frequencies. And thus, the process of new learning and new understanding makes you realize that there is never any end to knowledge. You have to move and gather knowledge as you go along.

Lesson to learn

When you begin to understand energy and realize that everything is energy, then, practically, it becomes easy to understand where you are unnecessarily "donating" your energy or "depositing" it. There is much difference between the two. I added "unnecessary" to the first one for those who donate for a personal gain, whether it is money or time for emotions. It depletes their energy. If you constantly try and explain to people who you are with the intention that they should change their opinion about you and like you. This is really giving away good energy to one not deserving of it.
Depositing, as I see it is investing energy. It is a positive exchange most of the time. Like, the love of a mother and child. Such deposits increase and multiply.
So, energy cannot be given away indiscriminately, is the lesson I learnt in life. Because the moment you focus your energy on something, it grows. So, make sure where you deposit your energy and what you want to see grow. It is precious.

Bliss!

Happiness means so many different things to different people. But ignorance is often the greatest bliss factor. And to ignore is also a great bliss at the best and the worst of times.
Imagine, if you never had any recognition of who liked you and who didn't, or just chose to ignore it all, how wonderful it would be! Or that you never thought of who YOUR favorite was and who not!! Happiness!!! To swim through life mindless of who or what or when and why.....Bliss!
