Miracle

I have learnt that not everyone who is knowledgeable is a good teacher. You have to have the knack of breaking it down to basics to make it acceptable, understood and palatable. I think the one effective way to teach is after you have experienced life and had a chance to introspect, analyze and then come to some valid conclusions about how life works.

Books can never substitute for experiences.

As for living life, the best attitude is that of a child who finds a miracle in everything.

Language of silence

I often observe people who move together as friends. They certainly do fulfill some needs of each other. And everyone has different needs.

But, over a period of time, I have understood one thing. It is very important to understand the language of silence among friends. You don’t always have to be exuberant, always chatty at 90 words per minute. Sometimes, you just have quiet moments. And these could extend to longer periods for some. What happens is that people often distance themselves in some cases can’t call them friends. I find quiet people have fewer understanding people around them.

At the end of the day, we are talking about each one’s journey and different strokes for different folks. Underlying this is a strong bond of compassion, empathy and understanding. And this bond understands silences. If It doesn’t, people will naturally move away from each other. Relationships thrive on depth of understanding.

Spiritual isolation

When you have an active conscience, you have to be prepared for and have the courage to face a certain amount of isolation. Remember, we live in kalyug? Who wants to awaken a deadened conscience which is exactly what you will be triggering by exhibiting a sample of your conscience. You are bound to be a threat to some.

I see spiritually strong people oozing an enormous amount of their inner light which draws people. And also, scares some other people who evidently have some amount of dark places within them.

I am beginning to understand the law of the Universe which says, what is below is also above. As the air over a mountain is rarified, so is the atmosphere around spiritually elevated people. And on that high level of consciousness, there would be very few people, hence the isolation.

Spiritual isolation is a natural graduation, which cannot be forced externally. You have to grow into it experientially. A blissful state!

Dark and light

Dark and light is a natural process. Dark can be dispelled anytime if your inner light is accessible by you. Darkness can dominate only in the absence of light. And this happens when we don’t have the tools to access our own light. The opacity of a negative inner environment conceals the light and the opacity deprives access.

Dispelling darkness is the only choice . And the Lord said, “Let there be light”. And there was light.

Memories

I marvel at people who just take things for granted. Because what you really take completely for granted is the most fragile. Yes, LIFE!

Is there any guarantee that we will even wake up in the morning? Every day, we hear of sudden health issues, some discovered too late even because, before manifesting, they were festering within.

One would imagine that after witnessing one or two such cases, people would become more sensitive to those around them and aware of the fact that they can be lost to them anytime.

And yet, this awareness is very slow to come in, if at all. It is very essential to spend as much time with each other and build up strong and loving memories to last and transfer to each succeeding generation. We survive only on good memories, and we have to create them ourselves.

Perspectives

A popular thought: if God brings you to it, HE will take you through it”. As we go through life, with each onslaught, we begin to get stronger and stronger. As they say, if it doesn’t kill you, it HAS to make you stronger.

When I see my loved ones having to live without people they loved very much, and living with grace, I realize that we really have no business to be anything other than compassionate. And live with courage. And self respect.

Every second day, there is news of someone getting unwell. There is always news of families breaking apart. There is enough misery to cope with. And enough support to be given.

I really don’t know what to say about people who get so selfish in their ego that they don’t recognize even those who care for them. Their loss, I guess. They have not learnt to count their blessings. Or, are in a whirlpool of mixed emotions where they don’t want to know that they also could be riddled with faulty perspectives.

Survive

I want to urge people who are prone to deep depressions and disappointments in life, that swallowing pills to feel numb is temporary. I agree that certain issues are really difficult to handle.

There comes a time of hopelessness when no solutions come up and we are on the verge if defeat and acceptance of unpalatable truths.

Never mind. Keep faith. Just as seasons must change, so must the inner seasons of the mind. Agreed that we lose patience and cannot determine the exact point at which something snaps within us. Just don’t let it snap. Keep faith.

If we didn’t believe in goodness on earth, how could we survive? Keep faith and wait for the tide to turn. It will, if you keep faith.

Environment

Today, we are riddled with double standards wherever we turn. One set for us and another for others. Without any qualms!

“Do as you would like others do unto you” could be a saying in Swahili for all that we know. It is a different world with people courting completely new mindsets.

Complex minds and even dangerous minds, especially if they are devoid of emotions and all the definitions have undergone a sea change. There is really no choice but to accept them. And hope sensitivities will be revived as a reaction to too much of a clinical approach to people, reactions which could be given other tags, such as callous and unfeeling. A legacy of a dominant and fragile ego perhaps and of a highly competitive environment where gnawing desires and ambitions overlook the dying embers of humaneness.
