Consequences

There was a time when the spoken word was like a signed document of trust. Today, cheating and lack of ethics in business is rampant. To execute a job order, a client has to pay 75 percent advance and in return, gets damaged goods.

It is money all the way and a hundred whitewashing excuses to deny a shoddy job done.

There seems to be no fear of divine intervention and fear of God, even though it is written in black and white that you will face adequate consequences for non-spiritual action. Yet, people think they can get away.

This kind of unethical earning will not stay. Like gambling money does not stay.

We know this to be true but we still let the devils within us win. For a little money.

Orientation

I have learnt that one should never reach a point of no return. There should always be a little window open to jump out and return. Anyway, life works out invariably to bring us face to face with what we are studiously trying to avoid. And what for is we doing that often, due to our weaknesses, our inability to face situations.

There is a little space to be maintained between us, people and episodes. It gives us a clearer vision, a balanced viewpoint and a better action orientation. Maybe, others might sometimes cause a desire to burn bridges. It is good to maintain a status quo at such times. To be neutral until you see which way the tide is turning.

The problem with us is, we won’t even exercise our own wisdom because we are so busy just reacting and reacting more. Let us just understand when to withdraw into our own space and when to emerge from it. Then, there will be no need to reach a point of no return or to burn bridges, at least, from our side.

Thought and Action

Have you noticed that our thoughts, our actions are mostly based on the expected responses? Have we thought or acted for the sake of thinking and acting? That anticipated response or the expectation of a certain kind of response is vital to our basic health. Because the result is either a “feel good” one or one that brings out our fear and insecurities.
We are so dependent on other people! Their opinions, their good will, their liking (or not) shape and even create us. Quite scary, actually, because we all believe we are independent, thinking individuals pretty much in control of our life.
Yes, we have to live amongst people, but what percentage of the self can we salvage after succumbing to all the influences?

Consequence

We have become very good at pinning the blame somewhere, as long as no fingers point at us. History evolves every day, with new events, new thoughts, and new ideologies. But to be honest, all these are inspired by one or a few controlling men. We have more sheep like people who are followers. Naturally then, if there is a no mind situation, the stronger will get stronger and rule the no mind ones. And history keeps documenting the changes.
But we never learnt to live in the present moment and never tried to influence the masses to action resulting in peace. Gandhiji did, with a lot of sacrifice and got killed but we only talk about his character and morals today. And that too, sitting in our comfortable homes over a glass of wine, probably feeling important just discussing what the channels are airing, blaming someone or another again.
We have lost ourselves, however much we might have gained materially. Of no consequence if we have lost our souls.

Space

Spaces really intrigues me. I have lived in all shapes and sizes of homes with small rooms and not so small rooms. People say space defines a human being. I wonder? Does it really?
I would rather concentrate on the space within. I have seen highly spiritual people live within a very tiny space. And I have also seen people living in mansions whose inner space is very small and restricted.
Sometimes, I think the larger the space within; the less is the desire to acquire external space. Because any space which is external would be limited as compared to our inner "Akash". Anyway, it's not as if the acquisition of a humongous amount of space would be put to good use. It would probably be a constantly inflating ego that would occupy the large space and reside there indefinitely, and sometimes permanently.
Whereas, the deeper memories are of small homes filled with love and warmth, a small kitchen with just two items cooked lovingly, of dormitory style sleeping amidst giggles and much joy. Of elders becoming like kids amidst kids. And who also taught us the meaning of life in all its simplicity where people loved people and used things.
Today, people are used and things are loved and times will change again and yet again.

Mind control

As we progress from phase to phase, we keep changing drastically sometimes. My favorite line used to be, “I will never do this". Over the years, I have done almost everything I said I would never do. "Never" is a word which now holds a very childish connotation in my book of life.
But on the flip side, do notice that I used "ALMOST everything". That is vital to study. What gets excluded from the "almost?"
You know, in reverse psychology, if you want someone to do something, tell them not to do it and it will be definitely done. Similarly, what you should exclude from your "almost everything”, only your mind can do for you.
You can be adventurous and want to try it all with the exception of what is not good or healthy for you. And there comes the role of mind control. I call the mind the "x" factor, like in Algebra where we were supposed to discover or arrive at the value of "x".

Aren't we all spending our days doing just that?
