Self-esteem

One of the most significant issues of self-esteem is the inability to be relevant to oneself and as a reaction, to others.

I have noticed many times that being relevant as being productive is imperative to the rest falling into place. It makes for a certain brand of inner happiness that makes petty issues irrelevant, which would be otherwise magnified, leading to much inner struggle and conflict.

Relevance also gives a value to society through our contribution. A win situation.

Spiritual wisdom

If you have the blessings and teachings of a Satguru, you are indeed blessed. My guru who is staying with us for a few days is one who lights my path and shows me a direction that is so illuminating and enlightening that I feel very lucky to have met him on the path that he walks.
For the non believers and for those who live mostly within the external framework of this world, I can only say, once you receive and experience the nectar of spiritual wisdom, your transformation will not find adequate words which will succeed in describing that experience.
Of course, we need to work in our external environment, too, while on this earth. What we end up doing is working more here and less within our inner world. Symbolically, the stories of our gods and goddesses also show us the path of balance between these two aspects of us.
So, you see different aspects of Krishna: as a householder, warrior, loyal friend and a "paramatma" at the same time. There are messages at every step for us if we can decode them, of being multi faceted and being aware of our alignment with the collective consciousness. The journey is very exciting, with a new lesson through a new perspective of an already learnt lesson or new knowledge, acquired this moment , illuminating every minute of our lives…

Universal laws

There are many religions and sects and several texts which teach human beings how to live with each other and how to also evolve spiritually while performing our daily karma.
But what gets internalized is basically what some religious heads interpret from these texts and unfortunately, add their own bit to keep their place in the hierarchical order , thus , often losing the thought processes of the writers and the authenticity of the text.
The end result is groups, blind following, and rigid mindsets and therefore, limited minds and a huge amount of intolerance for anyone who does not believe in your belief systems....a potentially ignitable situation at the best of times and the worst of times.
If every human being was taught instead, to read the texts and gain the knowledge written with the pure, undiluted intentions of those writers, this world would learn to follow the universal laws and treat each other with love, respect and understanding.
It is never too late to incorporate such studies within the academic curriculum. There will most certainly be astounding results. We have forgotten our “gurukuls”.

Live and let live!

Live and let live! That would be so, so wonderful, right? No interference. No desire to control or clip wings. No poking the nose in other people's affairs. Maintaining a little space within the closeness. Letting the final decision be taken by the person concerned. Agree to disagree in an amicable manner sometimes. Encourage and support independent points of view. But continuing to care and respect all the way...
Sometimes, people can walk along the same path but at their own pace. And that is so wonderful. No need to compete and to overtake anyone.
Walking the path with a spring in your stride, hugging nature, singing a happy song, a lilt in your voice, oblivious of any dissenting or disapproving looks, living your life with wisdom, divine grace and love in your heart.

WAY TO GO, FOLKS

State of chakras

Coincidences! Are there any? I don't believe there are. From a line you read, to a book you select from a shelf to people you meet, the food you attract, and the clothes you wear...our external world mirrors our inner world.

Some days, for example, we may choose some colors to wear and other days, other colors. There is a reason. Colors reflect the state of our chakras and define our moods. Food preferences define us.

Of course, as we change our preferences, so we demonstrate the way we are transforming. Like, when a non veg turns a veg, there is surely a change within. Similarly, if you start observing yourself in these ways, you will know yourself much better and succeed in making the changes you feel you should be making for yourself. This expedites our evolution.

Pastime

Worry, worry, worry! It is the most popular pastime. Sometimes, I think some people thrive on worry. What would they do if they didn't have something to worry about?

So, you worry about your children, your job, whether your staff is going to turn up for work the next day, how much influence you have on others, why you are not popular in a group…etc.

From the more serious to the lighter issues, we just like to worry.

Instead, if we start analyzing the reasons and the root causes of every worry, we may see some light at the end of the tunnel. There are tough karmic experiences that many go through, whether happily or unhappily. But underneath that knowledge is a more profound knowledge that of being protected and helped by the Universe provided we are on the wavelength to receive that help.

Spiritual poverty

Spiritual poverty! We seldom use the two words together but when we do, it turns into a very hard hitting thought.
Spiritual poverty is the poverty of the soul. As long as we have money, cars, comforts and "riches", the word "poor" is not generally used for us, right?
But that is exactly what many "rich" people are. When our soul is poor and sick and we are immersed in matter, our salvation is far from coming.
Name, fame and money can be very elevating...but only for the EGO. Not for the soul. Spiritual elevation is not connected with material "elevation”. The former does not need the latter. But the latter needs the former desperately. Because, the ego directed individual will, most likely, tend to develop an anti spiritual personality.
It is often possible to find spiritually rich people in a hut and the spiritually poor people in palaces.
To become your own person in every sense, you have to be prepared to be “burnt” (metaphorically) and stand isolated, if required. If there is no courage within the spiritual framework of a person, spiritual growth remains just a dream until further lessons are learnt.
