Struggle
As humans, we are as negative as many others around us. We struggle with feelings like injustice, reactions, feeling rejected, the unfairness of justifying a wrong deed. Sometimes, these feelings become intense and there is much anger.
Then gradually, as you realize
you can only change yourself, grudgingly, acceptance of what you can’t control
or change sets in and you begin to seek answers to the “why”.
Finally dawns the light you need
so badly within you and have blocked for so long. And when expectations die,
finally, some peace dawns.
What a struggle when we could
have arrived at this solution so much earlier.
But, right time and right effort
is imminent! So much backlog to clear. We have to be kind to ourselves.

Truth
We are always so close to healing
ourselves, except for denial of our distortions. THIS acts like a thick veil
between us and our healed selves.
We DON’T need to know about
anyone else.
We need to know
WHAT angers us
WHAT inspires us into conflict
WHERE lie our imbalances
WHY we are unaccepting of our
need to change certain thought processes within us
WHY we prefer to blame others but
refuse to admit to our own weaknesses
WHY we feel envy, and pander to
our insecurities etc.
What do any of these have to do
with anyone else?
But, this is the way we want to
continue to live. Never mind the miserable state of our minds!
Why are we living a life or pretence and getting comfortable with a lie rather than the truth?
It seems quite illogical, or
SHOULD appear as illogical to an “educated” mind. Except that academic
education is no guarantee …
Each of us forms a society and
the standard of society is therefore, determined by each one of us.
Change is an internal phenomenon,
the triggers of which might lie in the external world. But it has to start
within. And we have to feel enough discomfort when looking into our mirrors, to
WANT to change our muddy reflections into clear ones.

Gratitude
What is it that we old timers were taught about living gracefully ? About making sure we said our “thank you” and “ please” to everyone. First, at home, for even small acts by our parents and siblings and staff . And of course, to others thereafter. The habit was formed at home. That’s why we believed that charity began at home.
In short, we learnt that taking any one for
granted was akin to bad manners and was not appreciated.
I have often wondered why gratitude is so
hard to feel and if felt, then hard to express. Is it due to carelessness , or,
a feeling of entitlement , or ????
I guess change is imminent, though, sadly,
the traits we valued and which gave respect all around should not have been a
part of that change.
