Consequences

A simple fact which eludes us at the best of times. We are not here to make ourselves comfortable in this world. If that were the case, there would not be a constant fire under us, designed to make us move, even jump.

It is like an obstacle race which is mandatory for all.

Be aware that there are consequences even if we don’t participate.

What we call wisdom is to recognize this fact, enter the race and go by its rules. Like a marathon, it is wisdom to complete it in the right way, with the right rules. Ranking does not matter. And don’t say you did not know the rules!

The tragedy is, we all have a conscience which tells which way to go, but soon, that voice of conscience is silenced by us. And after that, it is anyone’s guess where we will land up.

Consequences

We humans are strange! We are quick to acknowledge our good deeds and love praise. But when we are wrong, we shy away from admitting it. And if we do reach that stage, why?

Human tendencies work both ways, for the right and wrong. And so, we have a choice. always. And the only time we should exercise an unpalatable choice, it is for the larger good. Not for self-interest.

It is not difficult to keep away from wrongdoing, something we cannot be proud of! Yet, we keep doing it.

Why does it at all???

Puzzles me! Because it is visible to most! And has consequences too.

Cleaning up our act is the best way to go. This way, you appease your conscience. Nothing else should matter.

Emotional Dependence

A constant emotional dependence on people is a sign of not being able to live with oneself comfortably. Wanting company , wanting to party ... no harm in that. But your well being should be always under your control. And that’s where we do slip up.

In everyone’s life, some decisions made did not work too well. And there were consequences. They may have resulted in being single, or wounded through a relationship gone wrong.. whatever.

The issue is , we should have analysed our thought processes to understand enough to avoid mistakes in future. But life happens in repeated patterns if we are not careful , and then the wounds become deep and bitterness might set in.

Not worth it ! At all ! A way to catharsis would be to remove all such energy , imagine a fire in front of you, and surrender all such toxins to the fire. It is a process that provides instant relief. A regular practice can mitigate a lot of the self imposed misery.

And then start afresh, whatever your chronological age ! It doesn’t matter.

Consequences

Let every experience polish your shine more and more. Detach yourself from it and you will see what that experience is trying to show you about yourself. Every such realization adds shine to your persona. Don’t get involved in the judgmental aspects of goodness and adversity of them. That is just your perspective. In reality, the implications are vast and consequences far reaching... much more than you know.

Lack of consideration

I think the human species is accelerating the pace of its own destruction. We have gone a little out of our minds due to the virus induced compulsory house arrest and restrictions imposed on us. The frenzy is totally unbelievable!

Europe is under lockdown. International Borders are soon going to shut down, we are told. All the kith and kin, separated family members are not going to be able to travel to their families.

Every mindless gathering is infecting several people, young and old. Yet, weddings with hundreds of guests are being allowed by hotels. Beaches are full. Why not? Rules are merely on paper. Who implements them?

The worst thing is the complete lack of consideration for others around us... the fact that WE, because of our stupidity and lack of control, are risking the lives of so many, family and friends.

No one is happy with the situation but does it help to run amuck? Imagine the loneliness of single senior citizens who have no recourse to any company and are still living more intelligently! This inability to live with ourselves is going to spell doom if we don’t watch out. Maybe, the virus has come in the form of “pralaya” which is the beginning of the end. We had better reform drastically and quickly or take the consequences.

Endorsement

No one knows you as much as you know yourself. Do you accept that ? Or don’t you believe that? When people profess to know you better than you know yourself, you get into a conflict between yourself image and other image if you are not sure about yourself.
The main issue is that we don’t listen to ourselves and keep working against our instincts. Compromising at every step more conflict arises in such cases; Out of some fear, some insecurities concerning the external world, of belonging and acceptance. If you are well adjusted to your inner world, you don’t need any external endorsements.

Consequence

We have become very good at pinning the blame somewhere, as long as no fingers point at us. History evolves every day, with new events, new thoughts, and new ideologies. But to be honest, all these are inspired by one or a few controlling men. We have more sheep like people who are followers. Naturally then, if there is a no mind situation, the stronger will get stronger and rule the no mind ones. And history keeps documenting the changes.
But we never learnt to live in the present moment and never tried to influence the masses to action resulting in peace. Gandhiji did, with a lot of sacrifice and got killed but we only talk about his character and morals today. And that too, sitting in our comfortable homes over a glass of wine, probably feeling important just discussing what the channels are airing, blaming someone or another again.
We have lost ourselves, however much we might have gained materially. Of no consequence if we have lost our souls.

Belief system

The conditioning that happens between childhood and adulthood is responsible for adult behavior to a very large extent. What is right and what is wrong is dictated by the learning at that time. Of course, there are cases where the children are sometimes complete throw backs on the elders in the family.
Life is pretty much a mix of first unlearning , the relearning and new learnings as well. It is not true that everything we believe in works all our lives. Some belief systems have a short life and must be looked at to find them obsolete very often, with dire consequences. And some belief systems might be workable longer.
The most difficult thing to do is to keep changing because it might end up resulting in confusion and a certain amount of fickleness. To be solid and stand by your values is one thing and to become rigid in your beliefs totally different. The former is highly respected but the latter could go terribly wrong if not thought through.
Something's work for some and for sometime , while some things work for others for a while. Given the changing nature of creation. But there is no ONE formula or belief that works for all.
