Discipline

Have you ever noticed that our stories write themselves? We think WE are writing them. Just watch with awareness how your days unfold. How many plans you make and how many actually fructify! Life has a definite flow. And if we try to break the flow, somewhere, we suffer. I call it trying to interfere with God’s plan for us.

Just look at the discipline and harmony in nature! Everything works like clockwork and seems automatic. God’s wonderful creation!

But we forget that so are WE God’s creation. Only, not so wonderful after all, considering the havoc we have caused just because of the extra gifts we have: a developed brain, choices and free will and a massive ego we have turned into obsessiveness and narcissism. Conflict at the cost of harmony and peace. What are we doing with these marvelous gifts? Abusing them big time? We live in a world of illusions, called Maya, but the veil of Maya has blinded us! Reality eludes us. We are like rudderless ships that have no anchor. Our illusory power stems from complete ignorance of who we are!

It is evident that we are out to destroy ourselves every day because we lack humility and the spiritual knowledge that actually binds us all with a thick cord of connectivity. Which we don’t choose to see.

It is evident that our connectivity with the Divine has been lost. Otherwise, we would not destroy human beings for land acquisition, for gaining supremacy and power, build walls of hate where only complete annihilation of those we hate will satisfy insecure and sadistic minds.

For how long? “Enough “ is far away.

Spirituality

The best gift to yourself would be blessings from even one person whose life improved because of you.

Why don’t we teach our children these wonderful songs with meanings for life and living? Where you do something genuinely for another without advancing your ego by commissioning the paparazzi/ media to write about that.

Living life on the surface and not connecting with other aspects of God’s creation is just a loss of opportunity to upgrade in the current lifetime.

We have no bandwidth for understanding the reasons we are here. We can stand upside down to project ourselves in the world but with misled values and understanding of the true nature of life.

We need an integrated approach: education first and then efforts with mind, values, intentions, spirituality, inclusion of creation and action.

Yes, our duty is towards self-uplift but the tools are based on our connectivity in this world. We are not here to be exclusive.

Creation

The ultimate reality is that all creation is one. All humans are therefore, one. So, are we always going to be working from our ignorance and separating from each other through what appears to be but is an error of perception at best? And not what IS? Because we never focused on what IS! We are so superficial that we only judge through our habits and cultural differences! So, wearing a certain garb gives an identity to one but is seen as different from what another wears … and merely on such outward appearances, we distance ourselves. And religion does a lot of this. Little differences become huge and reasons to actually kill because of a complete intolerance of people who APPEAR different. I wonder why we cannot focus on the inner similarities and find it in our hearts to love each other! Plenty of similarities…. The colour of blood The body parts and organs The mind An intellect Memories Breath Consciousness Awareness … and so much else! So then, why are we so separatist in our thinking? And we talk about it ad nauseum But do nothing about it! Just some topic for conversation? And that’s it? Why? Because each of us is wanting change outside first. Right? Uniqueness

Religions are manmade. Every apostle left the earth alone and people around him organized themselves around his teachings and it became a religion. For example, Buddha only said, “become a Buddha”. But his followers started a religion. The good thing was that there was an attempt to follow the teachings because not one of them ever preached anything separatist or conflict driven. They spoke about how to lead a spiritual life and connect with Creation and the soul.

What happened was that man, in his frailty, started to imagine his religion to be the only right one. And the rest is history. There has never been peace because there has never been either tolerance or acceptance between human beings.

It is worth thinking about why we feel we have to reject people who are different. People who are not like us, people who don’t think, walk, talk or look like us. It has to be an aberration. That we can go to the extent of even exterminating these people. How badly threatened we must feel, right?

Actually, we are so unable to extend our vision to encompass and appreciate the uniqueness of others. We feel small, irrelevant. And we don’t like that feeling. And we lack courage to become better. So, we feel it is easier to remove / destroy what makes us uncomfortable.

Always worth remembering that it is a lack within us that presents an illusion of a lack within others it is the resonance that makes this real. If you elevate yourself from that space, you are through.

So, keep your religion and all other identities within yourself and only for you. And allow others to do the same. Why is it so difficult?

Positivity

Today, I remember the words of my guru who said , if a negative person does not let go of negativity, what sense does it make for a positive person to react negatively to a negative person and become negative ? A lesson I remember very often. So simple and so logical . And yet, so difficult .
But by changing some ground rules, one can achieve much success in retaining one’s positivity. And not get affected.
The first ground rule is to know that you have to change your dependence on these people for your happy state of mind. In moments when they may not be happy, they could spill negative vibrations around you.
The second is to examine yourself. Have you misunderstood something somewhere ? And started a chain of negativity ?
The third is, is someone else’s negativity worth getting affected by ?
The fourth is, accept what is beyond your control. Though this can be very painful sometimes.
And finally, make a vow to yourself that you will be positive and happy no matter what.

Wisdom

Very casually, we ask God for Wisdom, as if it is there for the asking. Maybe, it IS, but not without human effort. What is a prerequisite to wisdom is discernment, or, shall we say, they kind of go together and one adorns the other.
To be discerning is to be measured, to be aware of how much if head and how much of heart, how much of senses, how much of emotion would make the right recipe for any particular occasion. And when this gut feeling is finally right, then the result may be right for all concerned and that would be wisdom.
We humans are frivolous many a time, impulsive, too. Doing things without enough thought and introspection, often lands us in deep and muddy waters. So, refrain!
Actually, harmony has a way of feeling like a flowing river inside us. In every experience, if we can keep our core unshaken, a "samabhaava", that is pure wisdom.

Belief system

The conditioning that happens between childhood and adulthood is responsible for adult behavior to a very large extent. What is right and what is wrong is dictated by the learning at that time. Of course, there are cases where the children are sometimes complete throw backs on the elders in the family.
Life is pretty much a mix of first unlearning , the relearning and new learnings as well. It is not true that everything we believe in works all our lives. Some belief systems have a short life and must be looked at to find them obsolete very often, with dire consequences. And some belief systems might be workable longer.
The most difficult thing to do is to keep changing because it might end up resulting in confusion and a certain amount of fickleness. To be solid and stand by your values is one thing and to become rigid in your beliefs totally different. The former is highly respected but the latter could go terribly wrong if not thought through.
Something's work for some and for sometime , while some things work for others for a while. Given the changing nature of creation. But there is no ONE formula or belief that works for all.

Unconditional love

Just because the clouds hide the sun doesn't negate its existence. And just because the loved ones pass from this world doesn't mean they are not connected with us. I do believe they watch over us. And I do believe we carry their energy within us, within our memory bank.
It would be nice to acknowledge them and all the elevated souls who are within reach should we ever want to reach out for help. And even if we don't, they are the epitome of unconditional love.
This also shows the importance of the family tree, each member closely connected in group karma and therefore, very important in our evolution.
