Connectivity

If you feel connected, you will be inclusive and share spontaneously. Or otherwise, if you are alienated from yourself, then you may not feel connected to others either at all or only selectively. Just as our physical system is integrated, so does our mental and emotional system need to be interconnected.

Contrary to our estimation, connectivity adds to our energy levels , like the electricity wires connected to the switch which, when pressed, beings light into the room.

There is no merit in being exclusive and wanting to feel superior. It is a complex, nothing more. Reality is very different. Our minds need to be free from all blocks of negativity towards ourselves and others. Once that happens, you get back all your energy which you have given away to others and this way, given them control over you.

Personality

Today, a lot of families are scattered all over the world and due to sheer logistics, distances do not always foster closeness. Inevitably, a certain formality creeps in sometimes. We get used to living without proximity with them.
But, the flip side is true also, and ties are fostered in many ways. True, that little change in personality can be a revelation when you meet family members after sometime. But by the same token, changes in us must also be embraced and adapted too. We often forget that this IS two way traffic.
Nevertheless, generally, it has become easier to keep connected today, what with Skype, Face Time, whatsapp calls etc. But, as they say, if hearts don't connect, all this connectivity is only designed towards wanting to keep in touch from afar at a comfortable distance.

Evolution

There are moments in everyone's life when the world seems to be rushing by with us watching it go by, and unable to connect to that crazy frenzy. At such times, we can either feel a sense of relief and peace or a craving to be a part of it. If the latter is true, there is likely to be some amount of regret, depression, emptiness at the inability to connect. This is not such a bad thing. Because only when we are alone with ourselves can we introspect, instead of wanting people around which does work as a distraction for the mind. Sometimes, it is good to start connecting with yourself, too. The best evolution results can be seen then.

Emotional aberrations

“I can't see" or " I can't breathe" said often are not to be taken lightly. There are those who actually cannot breathe in life and are steeped in depression and have many energy blocks.
Similarly, those who complain of not being able to see are like those who are drowning in the sea of life. Critical conditions may be close.
The stereotypes must be attended to. There can also be a lack of self love here leading to various mental and emotional aberrations. And not everyone has the awareness or the wisdom to know they should seek help. Their families sometimes have even less awareness and, in ignorance, do generate more harm.
So, when you see these tendencies in people around you, please get wise and seek help for them.

Honesty

In Hindi, there is a saying, "jhooth ki umar bahut chhoti hoti hai". And I have seen this coming true around me. Growing up, lying used to be tantamount to a small crime in my parents' home. The philosophy was that if you let small lies pass, they may turn into bigger ones later.

Today, no one lies. It is called diplomacy. You just say what the other person wants to hear. Never mind if it is not the truth. Truth is trivial if it causes conflicts. Who wants to hear it? And this is how one builds up relationships.

The opacity that has set in because of such attitudes has gone a long way in corroding the fabric of transparency and honesty. I don't know how one can justify these patterns in society if one wants to genuinely change the social order.

Separatism

Taking off from the saying, "Evil is educational", it seems so much easier to understand when you view this from the point of view of individual ego inspiring the evil and collective ego , the sum total of many egos inspiring negativity amounting to collective evil. Like terrorism which stems from a radical belief system honed by dark perceptions and leading to a collective evil, all within the darkness of negative perceptions.

How much cleaning one has to do of the self then is a matter of every person's agenda for only then will our societies purify and our future generations become secure, prosperous, progressive and peaceful.

Hatred is evil. Separatism is evil. And until such memories are transformed, we will continue to attract evil because we have transcended darkness.

Circumstances

The day you start feeling the hand of God in your life, you will gradually start letting go of many things that may look good but not necessarily an integral part of your journey. We cultivate some undesirable habits which we realize are undesirable...but they become habits.
When you are meant to let go and don't, then God works through circumstances to force you to quit.
The signs are very evident to a sensitive person. But sometimes, the timing goes wrong and it is too late. For example, if you are a chain smoker and believe nothing will happen to your health, and you see your family member or friend passing from the world due to cancer of the lungs, it is a sign.

Or, your car has a puncture when you are about to leave home but you have an important meeting. So, you ask for a cab. Half way, the cab stalls. You still don't see the sign and call for another vehicle. And this vehicle has an accident. See what I mean?
The Universe always speaks to you in such ways but you do not give importance to these and walk straight into a danger zone.

It is very useful, therefore, to be aware of what life is showing you through signs.

Prevention

Do we see the disconnect of words and action in some people? They say something completely opposite.

We don’t realize how damaging it can be to us. The mind and intellect have to be sync. If they are not, it creates confusion over a period of time. The intellect gets clouded and the result is disturbing.

The old values advocated “saying what we mean” and “meaning what we say”. There was a valid reason. It encouraged being true to ourselves.

Today, it is all about being really nice outwardly and harboring many grouses within. This bottling up is dangerous if done over a period of time because it can manifest as serious and even chronic ailments.

Prevention is always better than cure...some kinds of cure are very long term and very difficult to achieve.

Simplicity

There is much merit in simplicity. Saying it as it is. Such relationships are heartwarming because there is no agenda. Like bright sunshine which streams in without being filtered or cloaked by clouds.

Wonderful are the bonds of such connectivity where you laugh uncontrollably and cry unabashedly together.

There are some bonds of this kind I have witnessed and they are just beautiful.
