Simplicity

In our generation, respect was taught as the first priority. In families. For elders. For each other. I understand now that this is what kept families going. From generation to generation, there was an unspoken code of respect.

Parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, they all fulfilled the roles of mentors for growing children. And there was a bond that could not be refuted.

Likewise, the younger siblings respected the elder siblings. And so on

any elder in the family could pull us up for any lapse in behavior and our parents did not mind. In fact, they were happy that we were all so close.

That was one era. And this is one era. of broken families, lack of respect where you can’t even point out a fault, let alone mentor the young ones. it could be an instant cause for losing relationships and therefore, no one ventures into that territory.

So, this has pervaded the society to such an extent that we are a withdrawn lot that keeps surface contact with our own kind.

Egos? Rampant.

Insecurities? Many

Sensitivity? Increased, maybe in the wrong things?

Truth? Compromised.

Simplicity? What? What does that even mean today?

The comparisons between those times and today are glaring in their differences.

So, older generations call their elders almost every day but today, elders are on call almost every day. Because they love deeply. Because they were taught that love is the most important ingredient in the recipe for life.

Peaceful

What we learn by experience is real knowledge. We tend to make mistakes incessantly, often innocently , too, because we don’t know the nature of people and what they are thinking .

Innocence and simplicity are two qualities that are shunned . They don’t work in a crooked world. But if your world is not crooked, you can still make it work to your advantage. You remain peaceful… in your world and the rest does not matter.

Truth

Without love and trust, there can be no truth and straightforwardness.  We see this all the time . Truth means honesty. And today, the scope for plain speak and truthful simplicity  is minimal. Suspicion always stays with us. We always ascribe motives to people when love may be only love.

Suspicion is what arises when there is no trust. And with it comes doubt.

And this cancels any possibility of a genuine relationship.

No one takes anyone’s talk badly when there is mutual caring and understanding.

Sadly, we have moved away from each other in very unfortunate ways !

Simpletons

Generally, people think that if you are simple, you are a fool. They call such people “simpletons”. They could not be more incorrect.

Simple people can be highly intelligent and very spiritual. They are pure minds. They just live their lives based on austerity and truth. Their minds are uncluttered and they probably seem like they are from a different world to others , because they won’t resort to cunning or deviousness. They choose to be simple. And straightforward. This is the whole point that people miss.

People who value simplicity are definitely in the minority and as we know, minorities may be very special but the majority sets the trends.

At the end of the day, it is found that only the Divine sets the trends and many people are defaulters though they might think otherwise.

Simple means uncluttered, automatically working on a high vibrational level because too much negativity does not exist in them to make them heavy and polluted.

So, “ be simple” is a mantra to follow.

Simplicity

I have always believed that everything is flowing. When I look back , our perspectives seem to have come a long way.

Sometimes, nostalgia takes me back to old movies because I just love the songs. And I was such a movie buff in my school days that I would see every movie running in theatres with silver jubilees and golden jubilees and a few, many times.

The stars of yesteryears were not only on the screen but in our eyes as well. And we thought those were carefree, magical days of innocence and fun.

When I see the same movies again, the impact is not the same. Sometimes, I wonder what I liked about a few of them. You obviously grow out of some things in life. But they still blend with our impressions created at the time and the memories we have of the feelings we had then. That quality of feeling does not return often. But what is important is living in the present moment completely, and this we did very well back then.

What is sad is that those days of simplicity of thinking and living have gone. And what they are replaced with is complex minds, insatiable desires and a general lack of consideration for each other. People now enjoy crime and fear in movies, calling them realistic. Where are the pure love stories and relationship stories?

Soul Consciousness

As you grow older, you realise that your accent is more and more on your health, physical, mental and above all, spiritual. Of course, attachments keep you engaged somewhat but mature thinking should keep us focused on the fact that we are closing in on the end of our journey sooner now, whenever time is up.

Becoming hard and non emotional is a tall order. Pain and suffering makes us human, though weak , too, hopefully, only momentarily. There are so many ways to look at everything. Whatever suits us becomes our path.

But, wisdom lies in not forgetting the basics of love and caring. Truth , simplicity and compassion never had substitutes. Our journey should not deviate from these principles because they are a part of our soul consciousness.

Simplicity

Simplicity is not a weakness. It is strength, especially in modern times because it requires honesty and courage to be simple. Not only that, polluted minds feel threatened because courage is high vibration which has a different energy.

The advantage of being simple is a free mind, a mind that can engage in creativity instead of worrying about trivial matters. Life is a gift and we need to use it well.

Comparison

An excerpt from Kangana Ranaut's interview : " I think somewhere, women don't have acceptance for themselves. Women don't support women, and this matter should be brought to light ( through films). Though they share a bond, I still feel that we don't support each other the way we should. Like, at the smallest of things, we see girls make fun of girls themselves, our nature and how we look at each other as the inferior sex. So, somewhere, this needs to be deactivated."
I was mulling over this comment and finding some truth alright. Apart from this being a cut throat world, women have been losing out due to personality issues. Sure, there are many women's organizations and travel groups but.....
They call it a man's world because they unite for a cause and their solidarity does often overtake that of women. They also tend to move on faster than women without focusing too much on petty issues. Traditionally, women were not insecure. In the Vedic age, women were strong and wise and lived shoulder to shoulder with the men. But later in history, they came to be called a weaker lot, dependent on the male. More so, after the moghul invasion. And today, when women are coming out of their shell, they will probably have to go through a period of transition till they start supporting each other for a greater cause of connectivity and look for a connection in each other rather than comparison.

Medication vs. meditation!

Medication vs. meditation! We can heal ourselves. Once you start on medication, we fail to trust our capacity to heal our self and start using medication as a crutch.
It has been proven that intention is the core energy. It can change the composition of the cells. Reiki, the energy that works on faith and acceptance, very often heals in a few minutes. But many don't believe miracles can happen this way. But I speak with personal experience and that of several others.
It would be ideal for every school to teach one energy healing technique along with leading a spiritual life while also being in the real world. Just imagine how wonderful it would be if, along with Math and other subjects and languages, we could heal ourselves with the techniques taught so early in life that we are able to live as healthy and positive people all through our journey.

Presumptions

Presumptions and misunderstandings have a close relationship. If you understand something or someone, you will make assumptions on the fact that you know and understand and can therefore, predict to an extent.
But when you misunderstand, that can be based on your expectations of people, people you could sometimes be colored and prejudiced about. Actions in this case may be misunderstood and hence, incorrect presumptions made, guillotining someone who may be more innocent than guilty.
We often mete out undue injustice in this way and should train ourselves to observe rather than involve in emotional leanings that might prevent clear thinking and damage relationships. We all live and learn. To correct faulty patterns is not impossible.

Simplicity

There is much merit in simplicity. Saying it as it is. Such relationships are heartwarming because there is no agenda. Like bright sunshine which streams in without being filtered or cloaked by clouds.

Wonderful are the bonds of such connectivity where you laugh uncontrollably and cry unabashedly together.

There are some bonds of this kind I have witnessed and they are just beautiful.
