Simpletons

Generally, people think that if you are simple, you are a fool. They call such people “simpletons”. They could not be more incorrect.

Simple people can be highly intelligent and very spiritual. They are pure minds. They just live their lives based on austerity and truth. Their minds are uncluttered and they probably seem like they are from a different world to others , because they won’t resort to cunning or deviousness. They choose to be simple. And straightforward. This is the whole point that people miss.

People who value simplicity are definitely in the minority and as we know, minorities may be very special but the majority sets the trends.

At the end of the day, it is found that only the Divine sets the trends and many people are defaulters though they might think otherwise.

Simple means uncluttered, automatically working on a high vibrational level because too much negativity does not exist in them to make them heavy and polluted.

So, “ be simple” is a mantra to follow.

Strength and Courage

The world is going haywire in search of happiness. Yes, the most elusive goal anyone can have. I am wondering now, is it a realistic goal ? We know that we live in a black and white world. A world therefore, of dualities. The most practical way to live then is to build up a strong coping mechanism for what life unfolds before us. The moral strength and courage to assimilate all experiences . And if this ends up in the feeling of happiness, that would be super and a definite bonus. Can only happiness be a goal then ? In our Puranik tales, we have seen even sages and kings getting angry . Who is considered " happy" ? The tic, the famous, the educated, the lazy, the restless, the businessman, the home makers, movie stars , professionals, the married, the unmarried ????
In pursuit of happiness, we have to deal with day to day challenges and that is our reality. So, actually, " don't worry, be happy" seems to be a bit of a mindless saying. Are we actually forgetting to live in the quest for happiness ?

Essence of a human being

The "Ardhanareeshwar " concept is again coming back into discussion . The symbolism of half man and half woman is the essence of a human being. Both the male and the female are within each of us and it is necessary to balance the two sides for happy living.
Actually, our conditioning is just the opposite. Separate perceptions and therefore, upbringing also. The imbalance is created very early in life from which many do not surface at all. Families and Societies become troubled and in conflict because the role play of people itself is faulty.
I hope the new generations will understand how to raise their children with better knowledge.

IT IS WHAT IT IS

When you don't talk about yourself much, people feel you are alright. And you have no burning issues. But, actually, some just don't have the habit. Some are too private. Some don't see what this will accomplish. Some feel, "why bore others? How does it concern them?" Or even, why it should concern them, Kind of "not done" kind of feeling.
There are some who feel a part of other people when they talk about their personal issues. But often, I have seen that many also go through life's journey managing it as independently as they can. I wonder if being vulnerable to people's attention is viable in the long run. It is difficult to put yourself in the opposite type of shoes from those which you wear.
The final word of course, is, IT IS WHAT IT IS until it isn't that anymore.

Observation

If the only thing we did in life was to observe people and why they do what they do, we would actually live the saying “Life is the best school". Not only that, we would also understand ourselves better. No puzzle here! It is simple! For every observation, examine the emotion within you and the importance you give it, and you will realize what it is that you need to work on.

What we also learn is what to do and what not to do. Learning history, geography etc. May fetch us a degree but if we can learn the right lessons in the school of life we can get our pedigree.

Spontaneity

Spontaneity is often a double edged sword in this world. People are so used to measuring their words and actions. It is sad, really, because spontaneity springs instinctively from within and has no hidden agenda. But it needs another spontaneous person opposite to understand this...also an unbiased one.

Those who listen to words which do not resonate within their hearts day after day tend to numb their intrinsic selves and bury their core under the relationships that" matter." To keep everyone happy around them. At what cost though? When is the right time to make ourselves happy? Something to think about.

SIMPLE LIVING AND HIGH THINKING

Being from the older generation, this saying was what we were brought up with. Today, the younger generation might scoff at such sentiments. I merely smile! I know that however much we “advance” materially, scientifically, mentally and socially, there will be little spiritual evolution if we don’t value or practice the ageless tenets of wisdom that have been handed down to us and which make India so special that the entire world looks up to it for spiritual learning.
Actually, spiritual learning is the inevitable side effect of simple living and high thinking. Some truths which many consider to be obsolete, are relevant in every day and age. But, often, they are misunderstood and often, personal material goals gain priority. The race for success obliterates the necessity for solid value systems. A system of compromises also has its own set of principles. For example, if we need to compromise the truth to save an innocent  life, it is permitted because saving this life is more important.
The fact is that it is not so simple to be simple. For example, can we say what we mean and mean what we say? Impossible! We prefer to project ourselves in a specially crafted image, maybe because we want to feel good wearing that image, or, maybe, we are aiming for some benefits and are trying to please those who will look at us favorably as we “seem” to be, in their eyes.
Our intrinsic simplicity is also taken away from us by the constant reactions by our ego to people and events which result in a huge amount of the ever piling excess baggage that we carry, often to our graves. Being simple would mean “letting go” and dropping all the ego related obstructions in our growth. But, we choose to carry for years some verbal war we may have had, some expectations gone wrong, some events that may have upset us and so on. If only we valued the present instead of holding on to the past! If only we realized that by bringing the past into the present regularly, the future will only have unwanted, repeated patterns of the past and each of us who cannot let go will be solely responsible for this.
If we are able to practice being simple, we will attract those people who value us for who we are. These are the genuine relationships which are transparent. But we are in a race for “contacts”. So, how can we be ourselves AND please everyone?
The philosophy of high thinking is one based on personal and social ethics. “Ethics” is a widely interpreted word today. In the more individualistic society, the definition of the word has changed. High thinking actually implies a clear and pure thought process which finally culminates in action for the larger good, which includes us as well. It implies that a “win- win “result must be arrived at by our actions in terms of something for everyone.
High thinking incorporates the value of love, tolerance, acceptance of everything as having the similar and the dissimilar qualities unified in Creation. It means a constant realization from within that this world is not our permanent home and that oneness and integration should be the motivation for existence while on this earth. As a consequence then, our merit would lie in the subjugation of our destructive ego and attempts to do everything that will harmonize our space and allow everything to co- exist peacefully.
Is simple living and high thinking simple? I can only answer for myself and leave your answers to you.
