Stage of depression

It is very easy to slip into an inertia mode if things don't work out as you want in life, specially over a long period of time. When disappointments keep happening and hope ebbs away slowly and steadily. And " what's the point" becomes your theme song. And then, if you are able to pull yourself up and out of THIS frame of mind, you are truly admirable in spirit.
This is not to sit in judgement over those who find it difficult to overcome this situation. It takes a Herculean effort .
I feel that just as we look upon "annadaan"or feeding the needy as a divine service, bringing people out of their depressions is a major service. Suicides are a result of such hopeless depressions. Life is a gift but unfortunately, does not register as one to those afflicted with deep hopelessness.
If every member of a family understands the importance of this, and that if sharing and caring, this stage of depression can be averted. God's work, for sure. And this also applies to caring for orphans and those who have strayed out of anger and frustration with life.

Essence of a human being

The "Ardhanareeshwar " concept is again coming back into discussion . The symbolism of half man and half woman is the essence of a human being. Both the male and the female are within each of us and it is necessary to balance the two sides for happy living.
Actually, our conditioning is just the opposite. Separate perceptions and therefore, upbringing also. The imbalance is created very early in life from which many do not surface at all. Families and Societies become troubled and in conflict because the role play of people itself is faulty.
I hope the new generations will understand how to raise their children with better knowledge.

Introspection

To speak freely is a human right. To live in fear and bottle up your opinions and thoughts is an injustice that societies must come together to combat, for good can only come out of a free and frank discussion followed by introspection.
Just as we stop in our tracks when a black cat crosses, (sheer superstition but we do it nevertheless), we need to stop in our tracks when our thoughts, speech and actions become black.
Black is a color which soaks in white to make a gray but what we need is pure white, the healing light and the light of clarity and purity.
There are so many tags attached to life… such as "difficult", "unbearable", "sad”, "exhausting" when we work with black.
What we need is radiant white in our lives. And white symbolizes "simple", "honest”, "loving" and bright....

Ideologies

I wish we could "see" ourselves growing up. And stop ourselves each time we were getting conditioned by thoughts and ideologies that would never work later in life...so much of what we imbibe along the way is not our own. We have been indoctrinated with belief systems that are not personally experience based. So, they may not fit the bill. As grownups, therefore, we end up unlearning some, relearning some and creating some new ones.
The mistake we make is not stopping to re examine our thought processes often enough. We carry on living according to our obsolete thinking and wonder why we are not feeling light and happy.
So, recreate yourself time and time again to feel the pulse of life. Live life to the fullest. Release yourself from old pains, and go forward light hearted and adventurous into the exciting unknown.

Solution

When we need someone, we end up compromising ourselves. The equation changes and is not an equal one. And the direct result is the feeling of being taken advantage of. Very normal and understandable.
BUT...when the awareness of this happens, it becomes a less tolerable situation and a difficult task to set the equation straight. Then there is resentment. Many have experienced this and continue to do so...
What is the solution? Must this be changed even if it is difficult? Because everything comes with a price. Are we prepared to pay it? In these types of cases, distances can arise between people.
Or, should one keep the surface equation intact? In any eventuality, one will have to change the negative feeling and heal it. Our past actions cannot be judged because they are past. If one learns from them that is wise. The healing can happen when we know what happened, re live it and understand what we did and why.
There is no need to beat ourselves up or regret our actions. All we need to do is analyze our own needs for that moment or period of time. This in itself is the seed of a solution.

Weighing scale

Everything in small dozes! Anything excessive upsets the applecart. Too much closeness brings distances. Too much addiction to anything results in ailments. Too much love can create spoilt people around you. Too much self importance can be blind us to reality. Too much criticism can lead to poor self esteem…And so on.
Balance is the key word. The weighing scale is very important…to always keep in mind what imbalance can do...too much of anything is self destructive.
