The Universal Law

A certain transparency is very necessary and beneficial in a close relationship. Sharing the important aspects of each others’ lives can increase levels of understanding and compassion and further those bonds.
Why leave people to do guesswork of what lies beneath a certain pattern of behaviour ? Admittedly, we all have and have had issues to deal with. As children, as teenagers and as adults. And this continues from generation to generation with varying degrees and with different life stories. This generalisation itself should make us more compassionate and empathetic to each other. Even more so, when there are closer ties.
It is so simple that I can’t read all the pages of your book of life unless you share them. And only then will understanding deepen.
So, open communication . It makes life easier and very pleasant as well. As I keep repeating, none of us can live like islands. It would completely be against the universal laws of connectivity. So, why not build strong bridges to other souls ?

Strength and Courage

The world is going haywire in search of happiness. Yes, the most elusive goal anyone can have. I am wondering now, is it a realistic goal ? We know that we live in a black and white world. A world therefore, of dualities. The most practical way to live then is to build up a strong coping mechanism for what life unfolds before us. The moral strength and courage to assimilate all experiences . And if this ends up in the feeling of happiness, that would be super and a definite bonus. Can only happiness be a goal then ? In our Puranik tales, we have seen even sages and kings getting angry . Who is considered " happy" ? The tic, the famous, the educated, the lazy, the restless, the businessman, the home makers, movie stars , professionals, the married, the unmarried ????
In pursuit of happiness, we have to deal with day to day challenges and that is our reality. So, actually, " don't worry, be happy" seems to be a bit of a mindless saying. Are we actually forgetting to live in the quest for happiness ?

Interesting exercise

The irony of life is that it can be understood only on the rewind mode whereas it has to be lived in the play and fast forward mode. Another contradiction is that we are told not to delve into the past whereas, if we didn't, how would we learn from it?
Learning from the past works in two ways. Learn what to do and also what not to do. Going forward then becomes an interesting exercise. Like experiencing every wave as it washes over you, each one different in its quality, speed and impact. There is no warning. You can get knocked down or learn to tread water. But learning is definite.
