Procrastination

If only! Sometimes, I wonder what life would have been without these two words "if only". We always wait for ideal conditions to fall into our laps which will hardly happen, and we know this, too.

If only we had a son...

If only we could go for a holiday...

If only I could avoid going to school today...

If only I had more money...

If only it were the right time!

Our theme song is "if only"

We certainly don't subscribe to the power of "now". But of course! How can we? Procrastination is really very comfortable. Inertia! Inaction! Relax! Take a chill pill and watch the world go by.

It’s a great plan..

Seriously speaking, there is no "right" time except when we make an intention and carry out the intention the power of NOW.

Tolerance level

Our tolerance levels are so thin these days, every little pin prick becomes a wound. The reactions to small, simple things are just ridiculously huge. It's like the world might be ending the next second.

What is probably happening is, there are very few filters. Very little thought before action. It is evident everywhere. On the roads as road rage. In parties, as an aftermath of too much alcohol. In families with too much money, fame and power, and so on...

It is unfortunate that a land of an old spiritual tradition should come to this. The whole world looks to India for culture, tradition and spirituality, a few major qualities being tolerance, patience, respect, discipline and inner wisdom that was honed since a very young age in the earlier times.

Today, the teaching institutions themselves are so commercial and non spiritual that they are bound to impart the same energy to the youth of today. Who do we blame for the onslaught of the "instant coffee" and instant gratification age where money and values are not talked about in the same breath?

Formula

“To kill with kindness” is a wonderful formula. And deeply spiritual one. “Killing” metaphorically.
The thought can bring a smile to your face but it is not easy in reality. We are so accustomed to reacting in the manner of "an eye for eye" that to remember to be kind to a "least deserving person" (in our perspective) is out of question.
To sustain kindness no matter what is not impossible if we continue to be who we are
You must have noticed that to return cruelty with kindness repeatedly is painful for the other person...in fact, unbearable. The only way to bring a positive change in another is not to exchange the good for the not-so-good.
