Perspectives
Someone said the other day, and many others
say it too, that there should always be a balance of heart and head. Using only
the heart doesn't work and neither does using only the brain. The former
results in much pain and being taken for granted and the latter might make you
hard and calculating.
But, to complicate matters a bit, there are
changing proportions on a daily basis. How much of each would make for a
working balance. And therein lies the catch.
The heart is automatically made synonymous
with goodness. And the brain with logic, intelligence often moving down the
grid to being calculative, many perspectives and several ways of looking at
this.
However, the underlying truth is that both
must be used.

Home of God
I always wondered as a young girl, what
being spiritual meant. Everyone had a different understanding. But somewhere,
the common denominator was goodness, and dropping the ego. Since our revered
guru stayed in our home whenever he was visiting, the pristine atmosphere that
prevailed combined with extra strict and protective parents kept me away from
the real world. Growing up to the insecurities and complexities of people was
hard.
But the training imparted in the early
years never quite leaves you, even if it doesn't work for you at times. But if
you stay on a spiritual path, not deviating for anyone, your path becomes an elevated,
though lonely one. On the flip side, it becomes possible to help those that
struggle; especially when you have been there yourself.
There is no point in getting validation
from even family and friends. If you can validate yourself, it should be enough
provided you are thinking clearly, simply and honestly. The Divine validation
is the only and ultimate. Otherwise, we are just playing roles here of a
parent, a child, a friend etc: When this drama, dream ends, so will all the
roles that we play today.
Never cry or grieve at being excluded by
human beings. Grieve only when you lose your Divine connects. Wake up to the
ultimate reality. As someone said, your lot will be in the other world what you
have made of this world.
Life is not an indulgence of egos but
merging into a higher order and channelizing godliness through you. And this
cannot be done unless you get connected to everyone and everything with love.
Nothing else works in the home of God.

Survival
A motivational, beautiful story I heard
recently. A man's donkey fell into a deep pit from where there was no way out.
The man was very sad and wanted to bury the donkey before it languished to its
death. So, he began pouring soil on the donkey. Each time he did that, the
donkey shook it off and stood up. The man kept doing this and the donkey kept
shaking every load off. The man did not realize that the pit was filling up and
soon, the donkey was able to walk out of the pit.
This is so close to life. People try to
bury you for various reasons but you need to have the courage and creativity of
the donkey and snake off any "loads" being poured over you. Develop
the survival instinct like the donkey. Otherwise, to get buried is the easiest
thing in the world.

Lesson to learn
When you begin to understand energy and
realize that everything is energy, then, practically, it becomes easy to
understand where you are unnecessarily "donating" your energy or
"depositing" it. There is much difference between the two. I added
"unnecessary" to the first one for those who donate for a personal gain,
whether it is money or time for emotions. It depletes their energy. If you
constantly try and explain to people who you are with the intention that they
should change their opinion about you and like you. This is really giving away
good energy to one not deserving of it.
Depositing, as I see it is investing energy.
It is a positive exchange most of the time. Like, the love of a mother and
child. Such deposits increase and multiply.
So, energy cannot be given away
indiscriminately, is the lesson I learnt in life. Because the moment you focus
your energy on something, it grows. So, make sure where you deposit your energy
and what you want to see grow. It is precious.

Understanding
I wonder often... when one actually reaches
closure to anything. When a wound stops festering and begins to heal and
whether it is ever given a chance to keep healing or whether someone keeps
touching the raw nerves so that they never heal, at all. And time passes, it
stays until it's time to pass on.
The agony of the human being is completely
underestimated and / or undermined because no one can get into anyone's shoes to
experience it. But many claim to. And many are critical without understanding.
This is something I have yet to understand. It is truly amazing.
And to make matters worse and more
challenging is the compulsory and social need to wear a happy surface skin
which hangs loosely because the wounded skin is so tightly wrapped around.
Blessed are the souls who can feel this
deeply about others.

Mind control
As we progress from phase to phase, we keep
changing drastically sometimes. My favorite line used to be, “I will never do
this". Over the years, I have done almost everything I said I would never
do. "Never" is a word which now holds a very childish connotation in
my book of life.
But on the flip side, do notice that I used
"ALMOST everything". That is vital to study. What gets excluded from
the "almost?"
You know, in reverse psychology, if you
want someone to do something, tell them not to do it and it will be definitely
done. Similarly, what you should exclude from your "almost everything”,
only your mind can do for you.
You can be adventurous and want to try it
all with the exception of what is not good or healthy for you. And there comes
the role of mind control. I call the mind the "x" factor, like in
Algebra where we were supposed to discover or arrive at the value of
"x".
Aren't we all spending our days doing just that?

Aspects of life
You know, there is a need for each one of
us to seek as much exposure to the various aspects of life as possible because
only by observing the lives of others, different situations arising out of who
you are and how much you earn and how honed a personality you have ended up
becoming....
There are people who live in their own
little world who just don't develop themselves because they are just too myopic
or fearful.
You can easily educate yourself on your
own. Provided you want to. You just need interest, attitude and time, apart
from being like a sponge and imbibing and imbibing more and more, internalizing
the information and then making the necessary changes to your thinking and
emotions.
We tend to look at people very
superficially and tend to shun people who we don't understand instead of trying
to understand them and learning something we don't know.
