Lesson to learn

When you begin to understand energy and realize that everything is energy, then, practically, it becomes easy to understand where you are unnecessarily "donating" your energy or "depositing" it. There is much difference between the two. I added "unnecessary" to the first one for those who donate for a personal gain, whether it is money or time for emotions. It depletes their energy. If you constantly try and explain to people who you are with the intention that they should change their opinion about you and like you. This is really giving away good energy to one not deserving of it.
Depositing, as I see it is investing energy. It is a positive exchange most of the time. Like, the love of a mother and child. Such deposits increase and multiply.
So, energy cannot be given away indiscriminately, is the lesson I learnt in life. Because the moment you focus your energy on something, it grows. So, make sure where you deposit your energy and what you want to see grow. It is precious.

Depressing thoughts

Unobtrusively, we start to become what our thoughts are made up of. At first, we are taught to think like our parents. We imbibe our environment. Everyday actions we see around us speak of the thoughts that inspired the actions. And we emulate and emulate.
Later, when we see ourselves from the eyes of others, we realize that we must look onwards into our thought patterns which are seen by people in our speech and action. You cannot separate the people from their thoughts.
Depressing thoughts! Thoughts of envy and sadness or happy thoughts, thoughts of love and goodness. Every thought will manifest if given importance.
We foster the thought and then it festers. That's it! Many such festering thoughts create who we are.
So, think before you think! Meditate on what you think before you give the thoughts the pride of place within your mind, because they may enslave you. And what will that make you? A slave to your thoughts instead of the master who has command over them.

Effect of loss

Festivals define relationships. They are laced with sadness sometimes when, for example, you lose a near and dear one. As in case of losing a sibling and going through the day of Raksha Bandhan. They are poignant memories.
Although we know that roles keep
Changing in every life, attachment to form and feelings, the energy connections are pretty binding. They are very strong. The missing is inevitable. The grieving is personal and private while you smile and go through the motions of the rituals attached to festivals.
Such is life. Such is the effect of loss.

Prejudice

Prejudice! It is very unfortunate that so much of value is lost through prejudice. Individual prejudices are bad enough, but we also get embroiled in family prejudices, religious prejudices, social and cultural prejudices and so on....how much dislike or even hate we harbor within us! It is incredible!
If you are divorced, you won't allow your children to keep any contact with the "estranged" family members. If someone is better than you in some ways, you don't like them. Complex wins against confidence.
So much self inflicted grief! For what reason? Because you can't see your own strengths or know that connectivity comes from the heart, not through wordy attributes. That getting brain washed against people others don't want you to keep connections with is a minus in YOUR book only.
Families have broken up when elders malign and shun family members and teach their children to hate instead of making their own healthy choices and making them into wholesome individuals. Friends, now close and now distanced due to nothing but sudden misunderstandings and resulting prejudices.
I wish mankind becomes kinder and spiritually mature. Realizes that there is a story behind every facade. That prejudices affect only your life and mind. And look at what happens as an extension ....wars, terrorism, crime...all in the name of prejudice and intolerance.
Not at all worth it!!
