The Divine

Once a mom, always a mom ! I have heard this since childhood. And have wondered ! Why not “ once a dad, always a dad”? A bit of a foolish question, that !
The cosmic artist has carved out mother and child from the same stone. Imagine ! When you see your child, made in your image, with your blood and tissue, it is just like an experience of the soul being an integral part of the Divine.
How can one make light of this reality ? And specially when it comes to aborting a child, and a girl child .
I haven’t seen a mom whose face doesn’t light up at the mention of her child. To her, her child will always be like a child, whatever the age. And she will always protect and counsel her child. Maybe, sometimes, adult children may feel that they don’t need this anymore. But the happiness a mom gets by being loved by her children is unimaginable. And the satisfaction she gets by counselling them is also part of her need to protect. And expects her child to understand that.
If children have clear eyes, they would see that they have had someone holding an umbrella above them each second so that they are shielded from the sun. And they are blessed. Like I feel I am, despite many wars fought with the mom .
Folks , moms are moms and never do we quite have any relationship like this one.

Exhilarating feeling

You know what the greatest sense of freedom is? When people actually stop affecting you! It is an exhilarating feeling. We store and store and store all kinds of feelings based on all kinds of reactions. And what we really end up doing is tying ourselves up in so many knots...and we seethe and resent and god knows what!! Actually, the quality of our life takes a dip.
Imagine then, if we just stop and take a deep breath and just let go all that we are holding onto!! Wow! Instant freedom! I can hear voices saying, "but it is not so easy". And I say, yes. But it is not so difficult either if you make up your mind.
Stonewalling reactions should be taught from school because we do it so spontaneously! Without thinking.
Once you stop letting yourself get affected, you can smile your way through any situation. And it makes you feel a sense of release and a sense of being in control of your life.

Prejudice

Prejudice! It is very unfortunate that so much of value is lost through prejudice. Individual prejudices are bad enough, but we also get embroiled in family prejudices, religious prejudices, social and cultural prejudices and so on....how much dislike or even hate we harbor within us! It is incredible!
If you are divorced, you won't allow your children to keep any contact with the "estranged" family members. If someone is better than you in some ways, you don't like them. Complex wins against confidence.
So much self inflicted grief! For what reason? Because you can't see your own strengths or know that connectivity comes from the heart, not through wordy attributes. That getting brain washed against people others don't want you to keep connections with is a minus in YOUR book only.
Families have broken up when elders malign and shun family members and teach their children to hate instead of making their own healthy choices and making them into wholesome individuals. Friends, now close and now distanced due to nothing but sudden misunderstandings and resulting prejudices.
I wish mankind becomes kinder and spiritually mature. Realizes that there is a story behind every facade. That prejudices affect only your life and mind. And look at what happens as an extension ....wars, terrorism, crime...all in the name of prejudice and intolerance.
Not at all worth it!!
