Awareness

We have to watch our feelings about everything and everyone. Often, we feel negative or an alarm bell goes off within us. But we ignore it.

Instead, go into it and find out the cause. Sometimes, it is just your expectations showing up as disappointments. But sometimes, it can be a warning signal either to be wary or that you are going the wrong way.

It is incredible how important those one or two seconds of that particular warning can be. And how beneficial to our breaking old patterns with newfound awareness. Provided we listen carefully!

Expectations

Some expectations are so unrealistic, they are often amusing if we didnt get all hot and bothered about them. There is so much ego and so many self esteem issues around that god only knows when this realisation would dawn and when working on this trait would even begin ! For it takes a lot of humility and self search to ferret out these subtle negativities from the dark corners of our minds.

Even on social media, we share so many posts that we think will benefit our friends and us. But , there are people who get offended for not “liking” or not crediting the person who shared that post with us  which we shared with others.

Now, twenty people might have sent the same post and if all of them wanted to be acknowledged, how would that work ? And they haven’t even created or written that post .

I find it amazing ! We all share whatever we feel adds value to

Our page. Being a healer, I like to share posts which are thought provoking and will add to our journey. That’s all.

Dependability

Humans survive on their core beliefs.  If those are negative about someone, they generate hate. If they are positive, they generate  caring, affection . BUT , only until such time as their core belief changes.

Therefore dependability is a quality that goes along with commitment , not with core beliefs only because they are changeable in nature. They are also debilitating to the self if they are not the right ones.

We really need to be very careful with such beliefs . They tend to hurt, result in bad karma and mar relationships.

Actually, we don’t accept people and relationships as they are. The element of tolerance and forgiveness is missing. And I think this is because every soul on this earth is damaged. So they talk of others being damaged but cannot face the fact that they themselves are damaged and don’t have enough love to give. Everything then becomes a show for the outside world. And relationships are chosen according to what they can accept, not who they can love despite their imperfections.

Love is the only core intrinsic to humans but it’s purity and it’s selflessness is always a question .

It is enough to go ahead and heal yourself in every way and remain within your space, your energy, without expectations . Silence is golden as they say. Silence of the mind and heart AND the brain when it is not required for daily activity.

Crown of thorns

I have always maintained that, on long term observation, I have generally found less thinkers and more followers in the world. Perhaps, that’s why they vote bad politicians into power, just getting mesmerized by money power and flamboyance without solidity and leadership qualities.

It is truly amazing that Donald trump should be able to hold sway over “white” America such that his followers would actually stoop down to wreak such havoc in Washington DC. And ruin their own reputation, meticulously laid down through many years, at least as a stable country.

Somehow, although USA has had its share of racial issues, THIS episode of vandalism in Washington DC has really resulted in a bit of shame for the most powerful country in the world.

They say, to sustain power, one should be able to temper it with benevolence, not megalomaniac tendencies.

People have great expectations from Joe Biden: equivalent to his seniority and hopefully, maturity, too because his inheritance is certainly not a healthy one. Just like our Indian PM inheriting a crown of thorns.

More power to these statesmen and praying they can reverse the separatist trends that are tearing the world apart bit by bit earlier and very rapidly now.

Understanding

Sometimes, life gives you a rap on your knuckles. Many a time, our impatience with people leads to complete intolerance and you just go away from that to look for new people. Another chance to breathe, you tell yourself.

And then comes the funny bit! When you find that the earlier people were angels compared to the new ones in your life. There is always a plus and a minus.

Moral of the story: there will always be someone better and someone worse than us, if our expectations of them are unrealistic and not based on a proper understanding.

Belief system

In this country, it is no surprise that people are so divided. Their individual conditioning is not based on a common yardsticks. Every religion has a separate rules book and rituals. And although we may link all religions to one source, is it so simple?

The environment in a Christian home, a Hindu home and a Muslim home will always have different energies. Energies are so subtle that they can be felt even if one is not very sensitive. The thoughts, the way of speaking, actions, cultural orientation etc.

I speak of religion as a priority because our societies are formed around religions...religious sects and cults. All of these claim to teach tolerance, acceptance and love but strangely enough, they succeed in doing just the opposite. The evidence is staring at us each day. Groupism on belief systems taught and practiced because of having a common teacher or Guru is seen everywhere. Nothing wrong so far. You have to draw inspiration from some elevated platform.

The problem arises when each group thinks they are the best and they are right in their beliefs. Therefore, by default, the others may not be so right. How can they be when there is only one type of "right" per group? According to them, of course. This attitude magnifies the differences and so, similarities recede into the background when actually, these are the ones that bind people together.

We need knowledge beyond the "taught" knowledge and that can only come through personal practice and experience by exposure to all kinds of people and their ways of thinking and doing things. And by putting in work on yourself consistently. No guru or teacher can experience anything on your behalf. They can guide you in the right direction though.
