Evident

Being able to join the karmic dots and understanding patterns as hindsight is often very painful. We see conflicting relationships compounding under egos and increasing distances over a long period of time, coming to a head at the end of our lives. We have evidently not understood and corrected ourselves while there was time.

Life is not a party! The remorse and guilt that overpowers you for ill-treating your people while YOUR going was good, you will realize over time, was a completely misplaced sense of what life was all about.

I have seen people leaving this world with so much remorse and I have seen those left behind living lifelong under the weight of what they COULD have done differently but will never get a chance to anymore towards the person who has gone.

WHY? What is not to understand and not to get on? Why do we judge instead of love? Why do we distance instead of understand and respect everyone’s life journeys, especially their challenges??? Especially when we know WE expect this from others? So much can be salvaged if we learn and change with this one thought.

Can we perhaps slow down, reflect and correct ourselves while there is time???

Courage

Being timid in today’s cut throat world is a huge handicap. Where, in society, people are constantly judged, criticized unfairly, envied for what they have, and some people are desirous of bringing them down, to take all this lying down can mean not “living” at all.

Being good has a huge price in this world. Goodness shines bright and is sometimes blinding to those who function better in darkness.

It is therefore, important to counteract attempts to crush you with courage and righteousness. In time and with staying with the light of truth, it is possible to nullify intentions of any kind of destruction. The universe always helps those who stay in the light despite all challenges to the contrary.

Evaluation

How can anyone else but the person concerned evaluate the impact of personal experiences? The emotional impact, maybe a shock element or a feeling of being let down, expectations unfulfilled … anything. We should know we are all different. But we still judge apples and oranges together, knowing their characteristics to be different from each other.

So, we can evaluate only ourselves. Actually, we are capable of judging only by our standards, many of which may not apply to the people you are attempting to evaluate.

The moment you want to remark about another, stop! Think instead of why they disturb you enough to talk about them. It’s not them. It is you. If we don’t want to know their story, we can respectfully leave them alone to continue their journey. There are enough and more challenges in it, more than we ever will know.

Connectivity

Life has serious aspects to it. To have a good time 24*7 may sound like a plan but is it that simple?

We have challenges all through life which of course, we might deny or try to overlook in different ways. But they don’t go away.

The whole problem with this world of humans is varying strengths of character and the ways of survival adopted. Of course, some sink into undesirable ways. Some might harm others to survive. Some may not survive at all. But some also live in contentment. They are doing something right.

But, in all these options, we never think of the one that CAN save us from disaster.

That wonderful truth can make our personal journey and connectivity with everything in the universe magical.

As someone said, human salvation lies in discovering the absolute truth. But in how many lifetimes is anyone’s guess.

Challenges

You are not responsible for the versions of you that exist in other people’s minds. This post has been circulating for eons! Yet, we do get affected, don’t we?

The first thing is, we expect people to speak and act in a certain way and when they don’t, there is hurt. Their opinion of you matters! That it should not, is another matter.

Often, we could hear shocking statements and heavy criticism about us and we don’t plead guilty at all! We really don’t know from whence they came! The hurt becomes more intense! Reason? Because the thought is, “how can they ever think this about me?” True? (Ultimately, we are all looking for love and kindness.)

Ok. But they DO think that way. It is something within THEM that needs to answer this. THAT is the important point. It could be the inability to understand you. It could be a fickleness of their own minds which prefer to listen to some vicious opinions of you from others and choose to believe them because they WANT to.

You know, I have noticed that if you already have a problem with someone, you will believe anything negative said about them just because it endorses what you already feel. You might also get a vicarious pleasure from hurting vulnerable souls! BUT! Surprise! You are actually acceding to your own pollution of mind and it may have nothing to do with that person.

So, at the end of the day, each one has to be strong and uncaring of what opinion others hold about us.

We all live with our own challenges, our disappointments, our struggle to better ourselves each day. No one wants others who never think of correcting themselves, to opine about you. And it should be like water off a duck’s back. Tagging people is a spiritual taboo.

I am this vast universe, not somebody ANYBODY can slot into a box. And that means each one IS that vast expanse. However much you succeed in maligning others, that much is the pollution YOU have accumulated and YOU need to cleanse.

Buddha was spat at but never lost his calm for a second. Christ was nailed to the Cross. Human avatar will have these challenges because this world is both light and dark. You can’t escape darkness but you can accept it and then proceed towards the light.

Look at the brighter side and darkness will not affect you. Look at the stories of everyone and understand that some people have chosen the path of darkness and then, expect only darkness to be thrown at you. It is natural! Traditionally, it hurts only when this is done by the people you love. But it is ok. Love also needs no expectations of a return. Because love is the path of light. It would be foolish to get sucked into darkness.

Love and light are the two blessings we all need in our lives.

Spiritual Journey

Life throws you challenges, some very tough, in order to strengthen you and to also show  you where you need to change your path.

I think of life as a crowded street where we have to constantly be aware of where we are going, whether we are stepping  on anyone’s toes, how we are weaving ourselves in and out of situations and working around people. Sometimes, we need to step aside to allow others to pass. And sometimes, we need to forge ahead on our path while politely asking people to give us way by stepping aside.

This is a way that works for me when I remember to use it. Each morning, put yourself in a white light bubble and make the intention that your space within this  bubble will not be disturbed while you live out your day. Keep checking the bubble and reinforce it during the day . You will know when it is wearing thin as soon as you begin to feel any negativity.

Do try it and tell me if it works for you. We all need it  for our spiritual journey.

Attitudes in life

If you think about it, one of the biggest challenges in relationships is to retain your straightforwardness when you encounter obviously devious people. I say “obviously” because most of us have the intelligence to see through deviousness.

In a very convoluted way, deviousness might be deployed for personal protection. But , be as it may, if you succeed in remaining straightforward each time, when you face deviousness, you are definitely to be admired for not leaving what you value the most.

I guess people who abandon what may be a virtue for whatever reasons, must re assess their journey every once in a while , to gauge the long term effects of their attitudes in life.

Challenges

Who is a “sat guru”? “Sat” means the absolute and undeniable reality and “guru” refers to one who dispels the darkness.  Of what ? The darkness of ignorance of who we are . It has been often said that a guru finds you when you are ready. And this being ready could be the evolution of our soul through multiple lifetimes. It also appears that when you are in need of a guru, you may find one.

Whatever the ways, a guru is one who activates and guides the spiritual path. This does not happen suddenly unless it is the grace of the Almighty. We have to keep working on ourselves through a multilayered pattern of discipline directed to achieve this goal.

A true guru also energises a student to move ahead without him or her when the time comes and when the ignorance transforms into knowledge, studied, reflected and meditated on , before internalising it.

It is serious business because the transformation is on the gross, subtle and causal aspects of the individual. Today, an awareness is slowly creeping in , that goodness must be cultivated and harvested to embark on the path of purity and spiritual awakening. Different ways are available and any one can help if understood clearly .

Yes, there are challenges in the form of the many temptations the body and mind can fall prey to. And here is where a firm resolve that “I know this is good for me and my soul” works wonders.

Spiritual paths

Somehow, and strangely, there exists an impression among people that spiritual people have it easy, that they don’t really run into problems. Well ! Think again. On the spiritual path, many really tough challenges face us. As we move along the path, harder and harder tests keep coming our way. And we must keep working till the end and after.

It is the same as doing preliminary school and graduating to higher studies which has advanced studies and requires an elevated intellect.

Truly, we humans have a tendency to stay very long within the stage of mere impressions without analysing , introspecting and  then reaching a state of conviction.

Spiritual paths are no cake walk. To cleanse yourself to a point where nothing and no body affects you and the transient nature of the world is revealed , is tougher than tough.

I guess many might leave the path midway rather than stay on it. The result would be an incredible amount of spiritual loss.

Challenge

Developing crutches is really not such a good thing. Dependency can become a habit and the inner strength to deal with circumstances gets lost somewhere deep down. It is precisely the challenges of life and our gracious adjustments to them that bring out the strength in us . It is closely related to an attempt to become largely self reliant by living within our means.

An inability to chop and change our lifestyles makes us acquire crutches of many kinds. We are all in different stages of evolution and so, must understand that adversity confronts us just to challenge that spirit within us which is a toolkit that has every solution , provided we stay calm and positive. That itself is a challenge.

There is no need to live a life that is under the microscope of people. Every life is, to an extent, under a microscope and vulnerability to this aspect promotes the crutch syndrome .  Because the judgement of others becomes important enough to become a crutch for life.

When opinions start mattering, the energy levels dip and we lose the wholesomeness of our spirit. So, a word of caution ! YOU matter to yourself. Period. How do you feel about this aspect ? How many crutches do we walk on in the name of love and needs ?

Perspectives

A popular thought: if God brings you to it, HE will take you through it”. As we go through life, with each onslaught, we begin to get stronger and stronger. As they say, if it doesn’t kill you, it HAS to make you stronger.

When I see my loved ones having to live without people they loved very much, and living with grace, I realize that we really have no business to be anything other than compassionate. And live with courage. And self respect.

Every second day, there is news of someone getting unwell. There is always news of families breaking apart. There is enough misery to cope with. And enough support to be given.

I really don’t know what to say about people who get so selfish in their ego that they don’t recognize even those who care for them. Their loss, I guess. They have not learnt to count their blessings. Or, are in a whirlpool of mixed emotions where they don’t want to know that they also could be riddled with faulty perspectives.
