Adulation

One of the truths about humans is the desire for relevance. Those who have enjoyed mass adulation develop a high degree of insecurity when the applause dies down. Because the adulation has by now, become a mode of survival for the ego. We have seen the evidence of this trait developing in people after retirement and more so, because there has been no time or interest to develop an alternate point of interest for later years.

Actually, Relevance can be found in many ways within your own sphere of influence. By learning something new, by helping those who might improve their lot with one gesture from you, by simply an act of kindness that brings a smile on someone’s lips.

Life is full of different phases, each phase having its own value, its own relevance if we live it with wisdom. Adulation is temporary. It can be given and taken away too. What stays is your own soul consciousness. That needs work.
