 What can be more healing than nature? This is why all the hill stations are visited regularly. There is something about concrete jungles that disturbs the peace. Also, because we ourselves probably cannot handle the stress of city life. We are as concretized within our desires and therefore fail to give ourselves a spiritual perspective of the temporary nature of everything around us. Space gives us a sense of the infinite. Cities generally do not.  We must find our own environment, within and without, to become peaceful.

Circumstances

 I learnt a long time ago that if you point one finger outwards, three will point back at you. Ever since then, if I see undesirable behavior of someone towards me, I go inwards to see what it is about me that inspired that behavior.

This exercise has helped me tremendously. To understand whether there is something in me that attracted it, and that I should clean up within me or, the issue is within those who mete out such behavior to feel good about themselves or they are just not strong enough to face their issues or circumstances. 

In either case, it becomes a win- win situation for me. Either I clean up or I let go of what is not my concern. It is truly a moment of freedom. It simplifies my life.

 Every attempt to sincerely cleanse yourself is painful, like pulling your teeth. The mind just does not want to go there and look into any flaws whereas, that is a priority.

It is so much easier to discuss the flaws of others because they are in front of you. You cannot be in front of yourself, can you? Yes! You can, but you won’t! Because it is darned painful! After all, you are battling with your ego which cannot stand being exposed.

 There has been an intense realization that when inner positivity begins to blossom, you begin to get external manifestations of positivity too, as if they are just happening. There seems to be no overt attempt.

Desire

 Isn’t it ironical how changes creep up on us? There was a time we thought living in the heart was akin to godliness because love resided there. Today, mostly the intellect is used to keep relationships going. I wonder if, due to our self-seeking desires, we have now started succumbing to personal fears than using love!

Why fear? Because we depend on the good will of others to fulfil our needs, I guess. So, we cannot let the relationship go wrong. Which means, we need to use our intelligence to maintain it. The heart is vulnerable.

How archaic the old thought processes seem today! And those who still work from their hearts often find themselves confused and often in deep waters.

Love is relegated to the realm of God, as if to say, love is for God , not humans. Because humans fall short each time.

I wonder if this is generally true today.

Connectivity

 Life has serious aspects to it. To have a good time 24*7 may sound like a plan but is it that simple?

We have challenges all through life which of course, we might deny or try to overlook in different ways. But they don’t go away.

The whole problem with this world of humans is varying strengths of character and the ways of survival adopted. Of course, some sink into undesirable ways. Some might harm others to survive. Some may not survive at all. But some also live in contentment. They are doing something right.

But, in all these options, we never think of the one that CAN save us from disaster.

That wonderful truth can make our personal journey and connectivity with everything in the universe magical.

As someone said, human salvation lies in discovering the absolute truth. But in how many lifetimes is anyone’s guess.
