Attitude
The fact is, we don’t see ourselves. If we
saw ourselves and observed carefully, many things we criticise in others are
present in us as well. And so, it is not correct for the pot to call the kettle
black. The polishing is to be done by us on ourselves.
We are so external all the time. We may be
sitting in bright light but instead of enjoying the illumination , we get
preoccupied with wondering about the darkness outside !
Appreciating what we are and what we have
is never done in full measure. Because, while looking out, we can just be one
dimensional. This is the human tragedy. What lies inside is often denied due to
fear and deep insecurities. And therefore, we see only a fragmented individual
when we look within. And that is unpalatable. Hence, instead of doing something
about it, we prefer to wish it away by distracting our minds into external
avenues.
Ultimately, we pay the price for this
attitude.

Peaceful
What we learn by experience is real
knowledge. We tend to make mistakes incessantly, often innocently , too,
because we don’t know the nature of people and what they are thinking .
Innocence and simplicity are two qualities
that are shunned . They don’t work in a crooked world. But if your world is not
crooked, you can still make it work to your advantage. You remain peaceful… in
your world and the rest does not matter.

Personality
When abuse becomes virtually a religion, manipulation becomes your second skin. What a pity that there are people who would be callous enough to abuse their own parents , let alone outsiders ! That anyone can be so self absorbed that all the filters in behaviour disappear.
We speak of upbringing , sensibilities,
grace, loyalty and all
Those fine endowments of our personality
which come from
The old world. But where IS that world ?
Thoughts of bygone eras are only memories ,
memories that bring you misery in the wake of the current scenario where ,
unless you are diplomatic with “family” also , more often than not, you have to
pay a huge price with being persecuted. Because love is not a currency that
works anymore. It is only the art of superficiality that gets you everywhere.
But ultimately, it is manipulation because it does not come from the heart.
I still have the ability to feel a sense of
shock, a disbelief , when I see such episodes being enacted. It gets difficult
to then focus on the beautiful side of life . The ugliness is too consuming !
At least for a while !
