Perspectives

How short life is! When will it occur to us that we are the light? We are here to spread light in the dark spaces, not let darkness envelop us.

We live with perspectives but do not develop the right ones. We choose to live within our subconscious minds with old memories and experiences. And keep reacting to old patterns.

It is only through our conscious minds that we can train to see our light and acquire the freedom to shine, instead of being fearful that our light will diminish if we share it.

On the contrary, the more you share it, the more it multiplies.

Destination

Sometimes I wonder! At the end of the day, what do I want from anyone? What do I want that I don’t already have? I can take lots from others if they are in the mood to give. But then? It is a one sided energy exchange, Isn’t it?

So, then I need to return that energy. And I have no clue how clean and pure intentioned energy it was that I internalized due my desires. It has taken me a while to understand this concept no his truth!

Now I see clearly why saints always gave of themselves. Their energies are so pure that humans can only benefit from them.

In Bhagvad Gita, the concept of surrender is the automatic merging with that pure energy which starts to drive your life when you withdraw from that ego state that wrongly thinks that YOU are doing whatever is happening in your life.

You know, aircrafts that are aided by the direction of the winds reach their destination faster. Similarly, when the Lord becomes our charioteer like HE was Arjun’s, Arjun never returned to his earlier state of confusion. His dharma was the aircraft aided by the grace of the Almighty.

When you start to see this, everything becomes the will of God. HE guides you through the storms, protects you from adverse experiences and helps you across from this end to that end … smooth passage for our soul!

Evolution

How long can you be apologetic for your evolution? At some point, you have to be prepared for changes around you. Your comfort levels WILL be shaken. You will enter a new space where you may not find a known ambience.

The people around you might even wonder how they ever felt aligned to you? And you will not be able to explain any of it to anyone.

Still, regression into the old ways is neither easy nor advocated. Because empty spaces get filled very fast with new energies that are attracted to that quality of space.

This is why, forward movement is better, even on unchartered territory. New experiences can be exhilarating and profitable for growth. And each will be a new learning as well.

Compassion

Love is not easy to understand. Much easier to misunderstand actually.

Due to loving in whatever role equation we have, we also bear the brunt of our words/actions not being understood. The INTENT behind them, the emotion behind them are interpreted according only personal perception and complexes.

A mother’s disciplining is exceptional love. She risks being in the dog house with her child because she wants the best for her child. And many a time, offends the child in her capacity to love.

A friend’s love is demonstrated only when there is frankness and empathy. Another form of love.

Just to name two but either or both could be reasons for distancing also. This kind of love takes great depth to understand and accept.

We speak of kindness and compassion as different from love. But are they? Can there be any of those without love?

We humans only understand compartments. The integrated whole eludes us. Because we oscillate between love and fear. We don’t give freely because we are fearful that if we don’t get something back, we will empty ourselves.

If truth be told, only our perception is limited by fear. We never can lose anything because we are the ocean itself. Why then do we feel limited? Why the need to lead a life full of limitations?

We are not limited, but we feel limited.

We are love but we feel fear.

We are connected but we feel disconnected and often, isolated.

We know we come and go alone but in between, we fail to live without crutches.

We fear to access the dark spaces of our minds. It is not a comfortable feeling to do this because we have to face ourselves! And we have piled up stuff which we have swept under and don’t want to look at.

Dark spaces within us are a reality as much as they are illusory! When we light a candle to dispel darkness like the sun’s rays replacing the night, that is symbolic of creating light within ourselves. To dispel the darkness of ignorance. We are creatures of complete knowledge who come here to activate our memories of being complete. Everything external is therefore, a reflection of our insides.

There is a lot of theory which will remain a theory until we convert it into our own personal experiences.

Learn

We learn something every day. There is sometimes a first time and a new experience. And sometimes, repeated similar experiences because we DON’T. It is typical that these repeated experiences will keep coming. Until we learn what we are supposed to.

On a lighter note, this happens when we don’t address a WhatsApp message. The message will keep coming up on the screen until we read it.   it is a constant reminder that repeated patterns must be addressed.

Perspective

The mantra for life, I have discovered, is “that was THEN, this is NOW”.

If we reflect on our thoughts, how much of our thinking patterns come from past experiences? A maximum percentage, I would imagine.

We judge people from past experiences.

Our relationships, more often than not, are dictated by the past experiences too.

Our trust factor also comes with time, again only from the past.

Our behavior stems from early conditioning.

Our guilt comes from what we did wrong earlier.

Our lack of forgiveness is because someone has hurt us and that becomes a negative past memory.

So, the past, which is really a ghost, rules over us even though it has passed.

It is incredible that we still won’t let go. Irrational that we won’t give our present a chance. The more we read about living in the NOW, the less we actually do. The past has occupied so much space within us. It actually lives there; like the cobwebs we have no time to clean. We are so busy planting pretty fences and flowers in a garden which is full of weeds.

Popularly said, “nowhere” can be changed with a new perspective, “NOW HERE”. But our mind is here and there all the time. Never in the NOW.

Awaken, people, to what we are doing to ourselves during our life here! Improving every moment in the present, trying to clean each such moment is the only thing we can do.

As we clean, and declutter, we create new spaces to attract the energy which can change our lives and bring in what we call miracles”.

Life’s experiences take you into the subtleties of behavioural pattens which unravel the deepest psychological aspects of people and of yourself, too, if you are transparently honest with yourself.

Otherwise, we tend to skim the surface of life itself and maybe, also come to the conclusion comfortably that ignorance is bliss. There are so many ways of living and who else can say what is right or not right living for you but yourself ?

Life is such a creative process that its essence is just becoming, not reaching , for there is no destination while in this transient world.

Realistic

The popular slogan is never being unrealistic in your expectations. But, sometimes, we realize that what was normal interaction between two family members or friends for one person were unrealistic expectations for the other.

So, coming to understand what is realistic and what is unrealistic takes a few experiences with a person. Then, finally, a bulb lights up in your head and you rebuke yourself for not understanding sooner.

So, you take it with a smile and carry on... that’s life for all of us. It’s happened at one time or another to all of us.

Soul graduation

Soul graduation seems pretty real to me. We speak about new and old souls. Their tendencies, their inclinations, their interests say a lot. However, becoming an old soul is a matter not necessarily of many births but many experiences and learning from them.

What we DO with this life is crucial. How we respond to it is important. Whether we blame or count our blessings is vital. Whether we hate or love determines our progression.

Old souls seem to understand this sooner. But nothing is written in stone in this vast creation.  The possibilities are endless.

Conversations

As you age with experiences, now on an emotional high and on a low the next minute, with all kinds of upheaval and painful learning, there comes a time when everything levels out and you just count your blessings every day. And everything is a bonus, either to make you happy or teach you lessons.

I guess negativity is so exhaustingly futile that this realization is enough to shun it. Whether you allowed it through people or situations, it never helped, only hindered, most importantly, your personal growth.

So, these days, one is left talking to oneself about these things if not to God. My conversations with God are on the increase. Nice to know you have a friend you can talk to about just about everything and who knows you so well. Answers come from within when you genuinely ask. Quite amazing!

Spiritual path

To come to a balance in life takes a lot ... a huge lot. How many afflictions do we have to overcome!  And how much wisdom we have to cultivate out of very painful experiences. Who says life is easy? It is easier to take it as easily as we are able to. But it is not easy.

If you embark on a spiritual path, you will find many more thorns strewn in your path. The higher you aim for the more painful your journey.

And then, you see some measure of balance coming in slowly and sporadically. And you become stronger and more resilient.

Aware of the futility

Have you ever tried to take any thought to its extreme point? You will notice that it comes to naught because, beyond a point, nothing really matters. The mind, as long as it is engaged in emotions, will lead you from pillar to post, link unconnected thoughts unnecessarily and make you crazy ...unless you learn to contain it. But this starts happening when, through experience; you have discovered this to be a fact. That really, nothing really matters after its extremity has been reached.

You see evidence of this in people who weep uncontrollably and then, suddenly start laughing.

The lesson here is to always be aware of the futility of some thoughts over others and to know that beyond the mind, all is on ground zero.
