Entrenchment

Even we don't know how deeply entrenched we are in this world. Every minute we are creating more and more attachments, more and more prejudices, inflated egos and little signs of starting the process of detachment. We are amassing products of misery and stress each minute and then, in desperation, looking for people to bail us out or improve our lot.

It is very possible to live as householders and still maintain a detached attachment and equilibrium. It is not necessary to become a recluse and go into the Himalayas to practice detachment. On the contrary!

Living amongst people and yet being balanced is the acid test for us all.

Quote of the day

Encouragement

In the 19th century, the famous artist Dante was visited by an old man. He wanted to show his paintings to Dante and get his opinion on where he stood as an artist. After looking at all the paintings, Dante said, "I am sorry but these paintings are mediocre”
Hearing this, the man took out another lot of paintings to show him. This time, there was excitement in Dante’s voice as he eulogized about them and asked where the artist was.
The man said, "Sir, I am the artist of these as well...in my younger days. If I had received similar words of encouragement and praise, I would have been a well known artist like you.
Moral: It is very important to encourage and appreciate talent.
2nd moral: Don't wait for endorsements. Be your own benchmark.

Emotions

Freedom is when we release our wrongly placed emotions to the Universe. We really need to use our emotions rather than the reverse. Just as we need to use our mind rather than the mind use us. How much time we lose in the few years we have on this earth by not obtaining the right knowledge.

We let people and events control us and very often, wring us inside out. It is rather unwise to let this happen. As we take a bath every day, so we should also take a shower to cleanse emotions every day. Don't let anything fester and don't take any of it to your bed. Your emotional health is entirely your responsibility.

JUST LET IT GO. Flow with the tide of life.
