Pretension

There are huge training centers for image building.  Body language, tone of voice, facial expressions etc. Your real selves are seen as flawed.

We learnt how to behave when we were growing up. But unfortunately, we were also taught to keep “real”. What you see is what you get. This motto was our pride actually. We hated pretensions of any kind. It was too much stress!

Now? You better forget all that and build an acceptable image for the outside world. Don’t try to be yourself. You may end up being at the periphery of all the communities that “matter”.

Because the society is afraid of the genuine, the truthful and can only accept you with your cultivated persona! This is “sophistication”, folks!

Divine energy

A man travelling in a confused state of mind does not know which path will lead to his destination. There is no light along these roads, nor signboards. What does he do?

He started out without a clue.

We are somewhat like that. But in our case, we are ignorant in a different way. We actually know the answers but we don’t trust ourselves and don’t listen to our inner voice. We are also not focused inwards, but more concerned about our external image. We seem to exist on the image people have of us.

Why do we spoil our worlds? It is such a self-defeating exercise.

Praise often may not be genuine and can mislead us. But we can get addicted to feeling good through praise. And we get stuck.

Growth through honing our inner self is a painful, uncomfortable process. It can tear your guts out (metaphorically) to elevate out of the current mindsets into the world of the Divine energy which is like blinding sunlight to our darkness. To reach out and up into it, we have to leave behind the darkness of many lives.

Experience

There is a balanced way to look at everything in life. There are always people who love you and those who care with a motive. As we grow older, we get to experience genuineness or the act. But sometimes your trusting nature blinds you to reality.  And sometimes people change also. And sometimes, we change as well.

We need to accept it all. All the characters have been around you and there is also a reason why they fall away. Whatever the reasons, keep calm and balanced, right your wrongs and accept as inevitable what cannot be changed.

Humility

The more successful and sought after you become, the more humble you must be. This is called "digesting" your success. With this comes congeniality and genuine praise from people.
It's like a beautiful person who is completely unaware of her beauty. She is loved for being just herself. When arrogance sets in, even a beautiful or successful person begins to seem unattractive and often, starts to lose friendships both inside and outside the family. Losing sight of the niceness of those around you and whatever they have sacrificed or done for you is a trait that comes in with the ego that develops with success. Do not succumb because soon, even your success will begin to feel a little hollow.
This is the mantra for living. Be humble, because anything can be taken away: success, beauty, anything. What remains with you is you humility, genuineness and consideration for others. It is not everyone that can remain with feet on the ground whatever status they acquire. Absolutely essential to introspect and mend your ways, as you leave others to mend theirs.
A tree laden with fruits bends its branches more than one that does not bear fruit. So, with success should come the humility.

Goals

Everyone has or should have a focus in life. Drifting is not the best of things to do. Life moves pretty quickly if actions are focused. And are goal determined, because we are working towards something with creativity. Most satisfying, even if the goal is not an enormous one.
I am amazed at this experience of being a universe within a universe. Each one of us is. Suddenly, you feel free from crutches... and you begin to see people as they are and not the way you want them to be. You begin to see actions without judging. You understand who and what is a part of your personal universe and who is not. Quite amazing!
When you begin to watch yourself, you begin to notice that there is someone else within you who is watching and there is no need to feel alienated with oneself. That everything is a part and parcel of us.
As if from far away, I watch the world go by and I am able to converse with that other part of me which watches and then discusses with me. You know, there is absolutely no use of agitation at anything. What will be will be? And we proceed in our journey on the river of life, smiling at the ripples as well as the obstacles because we know it is not the real "me" but someone else who is experiencing life and I am but a shadow. The day I breathe my last, my shadow will disappear into the universe to create a new "me" once again.

Compassion

If you look back at your life events, you will always find some people that you have had issues with. Some you forgive and from some you seek forgiveness. And you also forgive yourself for hurting people and mistakes made.
However, I wish it were that simple! Actually, it IS that simple to my mind. But not so to other people. In everyone's life, there are some people who refuse to forgive. Hmmm... out of our control, right? But how do we react to this non forgiveness? Arrogantly? Humbly? Aggressively? With compassion and understanding?
You might say, "But it is not about me". But really speaking, it IS about you, too, because you were a party to the interaction.
It is interesting to see how such incidents confront you and how you need to make peace with them, at least from your side. You are not responsible for the emotions or decisions of others. You can only clean up your slate. And that's what should be done. When things and people stop affecting you is when you are on your way to real freedom.

Destination

Time is linear. From the day we are born, we are moving towards death. Ascension is symbolized as going upwards, evolving, elevating ourselves. Even the Holy Cross means just that. A horizontal line crossed by a vertical. The kunadalini rising through the chakras upwards also means the same, that evolution implies breaking the linear and circular dimensions to ascend, through higher vibrations generated by higher and purer thought processes and use this life to shed all that is meaningless for our ascension. Only we can do that by travelling the road enlightened people walk along , to walk in their footsteps and to learn from them before we move along on our own towards the only destination that we have been given this life for.

Maturity

Maturity! A very vaguely understood, perhaps misunderstood condition. Generally, we refer to maturity when we actually speak of people aging. "Maturity" seems to be used as a synonym for aging. Frankly, it is only the body aging and so, all aged people need not be accused of being mature.
Maturity is an inner process of growth. It means to take complete ownership of the self and that, too, with responsibility. Very often, we remark about people's immature behavior or immature words. Both project a certain lack of growth.
Maturity has no direct connection with life experiences. But, it has everything to do with personal responses to those experiences.
There are times when you must give in and times when you must hold back. To understand when to exercise such a choice effectively is a part of being mature, to HANDLE yourself during situations, to be calm, to be proactive and aiming to cause least damage while acting upon a well thought out plan.
Maturity is to act wisely and bring a wholesome harmony into an erstwhile tense situation.
That is why impulsiveness is often not considered to be maturity. Not enough thought there! It is also often mistaken for "spontaneity" which, again, is not a synonym. "Impulsive" is judged as "childish". Yet, Osho says that to be childlike is to reclaim your innocence which leaves you desire less. He calls this state as maturity. Where you don't really NEED anything. You are happy anywhere, any time and no situation have the power to rob you of your peaceful state of being.
In maturity, we feel light and happy all the time. Because we have understood the transient nature of this world. That everything that has a beginning must have an end and that we don't have control of this cycle until we are mature enough to realize that we are all Buddha’s. We have understood that, apparently unobtrusively, we are flowing away with time and each time we make long term plans, God has a good laugh at our expense.
It is when this happens that maturity has dawned and ignorance has lost finally!
